The Burger Bar used to be great, but has definately gone downhill. A visit before a Saturday night shopping trip was less than fulfilling. The organization and layout is chaotic, the order line is right by the front door, and even a moderate amount of traffic blocks the entrance from others exiting or who have pickup order, and requires people standing in line to sometimes leave the doors open or to stand out in the cold. Apparently the same folks that designed the East Avenue Wegmans parking lot were commissioned for this layout.
In today's fast food layout, the checkout process is very inefficient, further exasperating the problem; it appears to be very manual. There is no easy pre-ordering process or efficient use of technology that would move the line faster. Even the payment terminals are different and more primitive than Wegmans uses elsewhere and take longer. And some genius actually thought it was a good idea to raise the price of online pickup orders by over 20% an item, which discourages the use of technology for pickup orders which might siphon off some of the line traffic.
The food was definately mediocre and it's quality has deteriorated since the burger bar opened. The salmon tasted like it came out of the freezer, the fries were less than crispy, and the burger patty was too mushy and falling apart.
Moro er, the place was messy, trash h cans were overflowing. There were trash items on the floor in front of the trash station, and ketchup and food remnants on the surface around the trash receptacle.
It was just a disappointing experience and not the quality and thoughtfulness I've come to expect...
Read moreThis place has really gone downhill! Frankly, Wegman's should just close the Burger Bar at this point, if this is the low quality effort they plan to put into the restaurant. In the past, my family and I really enjoyed this place. Had a variety of menu items beyond just burgers including great salads and a delicious lobster roll. The price was always a bit high, but justified perhaps by good food and service, plus convenient location. Now, all that is gone! They only serve not very good burgers and couple other sandwiches, nothing else. They have even dropped the mac and cheese from the kids menu, which was a go-to for my youngest. Also they have removed the fountain drink machine, which is bizarre, option are bottled beverages. Not only that, the kids menu items used to include a kids size ice cream after they ate, now also removed from menu, have to buy separately. Both my full size burger and the kids burgers were a joke compared to past quality. Very small and way way way over salted! Service was slow and quite unfriendly.
Bottom line, if I am going to pay $11 for a burger, $3.50 extra for fries, $3 more for a bottled drink and $8 per kids meal, I expect more. I am certain the food quality and service would be better at McDonalds and price would be half. Very disappointed in current state of Pittsford Burger Bar, this was a regular stop in past and will not...
Read moreHad the displeasure of dining here for the first time this past weekend with a handful of my friends. There were 5 of us. 3 burgers, a veggie burger, and a fish sandwich plus 3 orders of fries. The 4 burgers came first with one fry. Saddest looking burgers I've ever seen, topped with cold, unmelted cheese. Not sure why they ask what temperature you want, as the patties are far too thin to cook to temp. The rest of my party was about done eating when my fish sandwich and the last two orders of fries came out about 15 minutes later. My sandwich was hot but bland and boring. The tomatoes were pasty and cut from the ends, so a lot of skin. Definitely not food I was feeling good about. In an age where the Wegmans name is synonymous with plummeting quality and skyrocketing prices, I should have know. Wasn't my idea. Thanks a lot Danford...
