I really enjoyed most of my stay there. Room was great, w/refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, large dresser & living room quality chair, desk/work station & plenty of lighting. Majority of staff was extremely courteous, friendly, helpful & kept the room clean. I stayed there back to back weeks for work & overall enjoyed my stay. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was due to a rather rude staff woman. The first week I stayed my company booked me for 1 day less than I was scheduled to stay, as I had added an extra training after the original reservation had been made. I fully explained to the front desk person that I would, in fact, be staying an extra night & she should receive confirmation, to which she stated she clearly understood. Immediately after speaking with her, I contacted my company to remind them I needed another night booked. On the next business day I received an email confirmation that the extra night had been booked AND confirmed with the hotel. The following day I received a call from a very rude woman, while I was in the middle of training for work. I could not take the call, so I was left a message to call back asap. When I called back I was rudely informed check out was at 11 AM & my possessions were still in their room. I explained that I informed them on the day I arrived I would be staying 1 night extra & had received an email confirmation. This rude employee told me that she was NOW aware of the confirmation, however, the cleaning staff became confused as they expected an empty room, so they did not clean my room & they also canceled my key card & I would have to get another one, while stating it was my fault for not notifying them. When I hung up I rechecked the email to find out when it arrived. The confirmation email was sent to me at 11 AM the previous day, which included a copy of the hotel's acknowledgement of said email. This was over 24 hrs before I was locked out of my room & left with no cleaning service. Does anyone ever check the computer before they start cancelling key cards? When someone books a room online, do they need to also call to make sure your staff did their job? No, they just show up. Someone did not do their job, actually multiple staff did not do their job, as this should have never happened. Also, even if it was missed, someone should have checked reservations before canceling my key card when they saw my belongings still in the room. Lastly, I still don't understand why it was not cleaned. Even if it was supposed to be my last night, wouldn't the room be cleaned anyway for the next person who might stay there? Bottomline, multiple staff members dropped the ball & then rudely blamed the guest. If my company had not paid for the room, I would not...
Read moreOn my way there after I had already booked my room that is almost 3 hours away I received a message that the water would be shut off at 9:30am the morning of checkout. Then unknown to me the next morning at 8am they started construction on the two rooms next to me by removing bathrooms in order to place the new bathrooms in. Alls I heard was very very loud crashing, drills, and very very loud hammering the whole morning. It was awful! While I prepared to be sure I had my shower before the water was shut off I had to deal with the most harshful banging noise. My mirror was vibrating and they also had very loud music playing. I went down to the desk after I got ready and let the customer service know that it was not a pleasant morning. He only said to me that we can’t control when the workers start working that they just want to get the work done. No apology or anything. I was very disappointed especially with the customer service. I understand work needs to be done with timelines but they could have made sure people were not in the rooms next to the construction rooms. This hotel was not completely booked they could have accommodated me and or the other guest who had to deal with that away from the construction. It would have been considerate also at the time of booking to make people aware of the water being shutdown. Checkout was not until noon. I had planned to sleep in until at least 10 since I had a very late night. I just figured I could make sure to get up in time for my shower but the construction made it so much worst. I ended up leaving at 10 am. Very disappointed especially being a choice member for many years. I must say this is not the first time this has happens with construction but definitely my first time being told the water would be shut off was the first I have had to deal with. Made my stay very...
Read moreI have stayed at this hotel twice before, and, but for what occurred on my last trip, I would have given straight five stars, once again. This stay was very troubling. The hotel is clean, the rooms are decent, the staff friendly enough, but this trip, I was placed in a room on the first floor, right around the corner from the lobby desk. The thinness of the walls and ceiling were extremely noted -- to the point of discomfort. I was there for 4 nights and every morning, early morning, between 1:00 am and 3:00am, it seemed like someone, or ones, were pacing every inch of the room above me. This "pacing" was more like "marching," and it travelled every inch of the floor above me, even where you would expect furniture would be, so it had to have been maintenance personnel. The inconsideration of deciding to work on a room, at that time of the morning, was beyond inconsideration. It was difficult to sleep and on the second and fourth night of my stay I woke up with a pounding nauseating headache. The marching was accompanied by weird banging. My hotel reservation was part of a Priceline package; I am not sure if this meted me "less-valued customer," or not. Also, though I opted for my room not to be cleaned on a certain day, my room was still entered. So, the offer to give you a choice was worthless. I did not complain or asked to be moved to another room, I just put up with it. Sitting here, thinking about it (with my head still feeling funny), I just wanted to warn the next person: do not put up with this and demand a room change. And Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Rochester-Pittsford/Brighton, NY, you have an outstanding reputation, so you NEED...
