When in doubt, buy jewelry ! And after you get done second guessing yourself, hurry on down to this great shop, Sierra Lily, and pick out something for your lovely ! After all, no matter how practical it might sound, no one likes to get a frying pan for that special occasion. Two things, if you think you’re gifting a frying pan (or anything to make household life/chores easier, in your mind) one, you need to buy a cast iron frying pan ! And two, it’ll be heavy enough when you get whacked in the head with it, that you will Never/Ever forget !!

Enough with life, relationship advice, I’m not Ann Landers here. I just don’t want you to get hit with a cast iron skillet! (They’re great to cook with by the way, you might actually want to try it.)

On to your shopping experience at Sierra Lily. Some people have known the wonderful family that runs this business for many years, after all, they’ve been there through the good and bad years, went through some changes, transformations, to adjust to the times. The products they offer are hand picked, not just set up as a factory jewelry store, but great displays of different artists, some even local to the Hudson Valley. There is a great selection of bags, none that you would find at your local “mall”, a few displays of artful clothing, and more jewelry. There are a few things for the home (no cast iron) and even more jewelry.

Customer service is something that eludes a lot of modern business these days, but not at Sierra Lily, they do things the old fashioned way, it is a locally owned, family run establishment, striving to always do their best. Even during heavy holiday shopping times, there’s always plenty of staff on hand. There is always someone standing by to help with your decisions, and the best part is, you never have to worry about the “gift wrap “. They do it all ! Even though help is always close by, you’re never pressured to look at, or buy an item, you’re never being “sold” to. Low pressure, walk around and browse, make up your mind casually, and be on your way with a beautifully done gift bag that’s surely to be a hit !

They have the nicest things ! I love that store ! I will never go back though ! This is the third time that I was there that old lady who works there with the thick coke bottle glasses has followed me around the entire store! I did not bring my pocketbook or anything in there with me but my debit card in my pocket because of her ! Every time I went to look at something she was right behind me !! She kept trying to get me to buy things when I was looking for A particular thing that struck me to buy it! I swear she was all over me. It was disgusting. I looked down at myself to see how I was dressed to see if she thought I was a bummer or something, but I looked great lol! I did mention some thing I wanted to buy and she mentioned if I had a cell phone I could take a picture of it, but I don’t. I couldn’t believe it. I left my cell phone in the car because of her. I don’t know if she’s like the mother-in-law of the woman or something that owns the place , but she needs to go. It happens to be that I have more than enough money in my savings account and checking account being that I just sold two houses. Then she tried to get me to buy a bracelet that did not fit me. She put me in a fierce mood if I was in a bad mood when I started in there I wouldn’t have been so nice to her. The place is amazing and has every single thing that I would love, I could not look around anymore with her...

I love, love, love this place. Kelly is hands down the sweetest person on the planet. Beth has incredible taste and is funny as can be. Kristin is such an easy person to talk to and very helpful when you need a gift idea. Coryn is a friendly face and cares deeply about making the store look its best. Diana has such a professional demeanor and is always happy to help. JoAnn is very kind and she makes beautiful greeting cards. And Maria--I HOPE I can be as fabulous as Maria one day! I've spent so much time at this store that I consider all of them dear friends. These ladies give this store so much heart. Please support this small business whenever you can.
