I recently had the privilege of visiting Monsey Glen County Park, a nature preserve located in Monsey, New York. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the park's rich history and serene beauty.
The land on which the park sits has been inhabited for centuries, with evidence of human habitation dating back to the Native American tribes who once called this region home. Over the years, the park has been lovingly preserved and maintained.
In recent years, Monsey Glen has become a popular destination for the Breslover Chasidim, who have been drawn to its serene and peaceful atmosphere. They often go there to recite prayers, taking advantage of the park's natural beauty as a backdrop for their devotions.
Overall, my visit to Monsey Glen County Park was truly a special experience. Its rich history, natural beauty, and spiritual significance make it a unique and inspiring place to visit. I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a peaceful and rejuvenating...
Read morePretty lame park. Not much to look at. The trail also intersects with itself hundreds of times making it very difficult to get anywhere. The trail intersects with giant power line stuff and runs right by a water cleaning place and right next to houses and streets so there's really poor views. There are also signs posted everywhere about ticks carrying Lyme disease making me really question whether this park was worth the risk. If it's been raining recently there is a nice little river at the bottom though. It is a super easy trail though and it is conviniently located for people around the Shopping District of Monsey so if you're in the area it might be worth swinging by for a bit. As long as you keep your bearings you should be able to find your way out to the river at the...
Read moreAs "parks" go, this wooded area crisscrossed by unpaved trails and bounded on the north and south by busy highways, barely rates. The term "park" generally suggests the presence of 1) trash receptacles, 2) paving, 3) benches and/or picnic tables, 4) playgrounds, baseball fields or other play facilities; all of which Monsey Glen lacks. To the West it is bounded by a steep sided gorge, in which flows the "Saddle River", although 'river" seems somewhat grand nomenclature for this trickle of brown wastewater. In the center it is bisected by powerlines.
3 stars. Not much but better...
