Upon speaking with the woman who was setting my stone, I told her what I know of the stone and the softness of it. It seemed like she knew what she was doing, as she said she did! Other than dousing it in hot water and soap, it was set beautifully. Had she took the time to Google it, she would have read how sensitive the stone is to temp change. It's cracked in 4 spots straight thru the stone. When I brought it in, it was beautiful, clear, no inclusions. She said she would look for another, but to me (and I told her in the first place) it has sentimental value. I don't know if she dropped it or it was the cleaning of it( still no reason to clean it). I was told that the setting was polished and it needed to be cleaned, but jeez, do you're due diligence and look it up. Wet a paper towel and just clean the table of the stone!! I am beyond disappointed with this whole situation and was expected to pay for it!! That was not happening!! I'm allowed to be upset, but this woman was a little too rude for someone who destroyed my stone! I thought I covered all my bases, with the knowledge I bestowed upon her of my particular gemstone. This all could have been easily avoided by a 10 second search in the computer, but it wasn't!! Just becareful, I wouldn't want this to happen to anyone else. I take enormous pride in my jewelry and gemstone collection and I'm left completely...
Read moreI want to start by saying thank you to both "M" and "T" for being such wonderful business people. I moved to Nesconset about a year ago from Huntington and I'm slowly finding my "go-to's" in the area. When my mother gifted me a tennis bracelet that she had been given by my father many years ago, I was flattered......but it was about an inch and a half too big for my wrist. I found The Jewelry Box on Yelp, placed a call, and dropped it off at 5pm on Monday night, we discussed what needed to be done and I was quoted a very reasonable price. By 2pm the following day I had a voicemail saying my bracelet was ready. Not only did they remove the links from the bracelet as requested, but they added additional soldered supports to the bracelet to make it stronger, since certain points had weakened over the years. I picked up my bracelet the day I got the call it was done, they were ready for me, my bracelet was sparkling, and the links that she removed were also sparkling! When all was said and done I paid a little more than they originally quoted me at (due to her adding the supports), but I wasn't upset. They did a beautiful job and were both a pleasure to work with. I will definitely be back and will continue to recommend them to anyone I...

I called the place asking for a quote on a repair for a watch for which I have all the replacement parts, and the lady on the phone very rudely said “you’re cute for asking that”, and that it was like bringing a steak to a restaurant and asking them to cook it. Now this may be true (in their opinion) but as a customer this is no way to be treated over the phone. I was willing to pay whatever they would charge, and didn’t think this was such a big deal to have all the parts on hand, as the watch broke years ago and was planning on fixing it myself but didn’t feel brave enough to. Overall poor service before even giving a potential customer a chance....
