We stayed just up the road for our summer vacation and spent hours every day at Lake Everest beach. The kids loved the playground. It includes some of the "old school" classics like diggers and a spinning carousel, but isn't run down or dated. The beach is a perfect size and has 10x10 staked off areas to help with social distancing. The lake has a sandy bottom and lots of little minnows swimming around, making it fun to just hang out in the shallows or venture out for deeper swimming. We used the boat launch for our kayak and enjoyed a peaceful paddle around Lake Everest all the way down to the Wilmington Dam. We even went out past the beach area to do some bait casting. Read moreWhat a phenomenal beach! I came to this beach to pick up an item on the Facebook marketplace as a meet up. I decided to bring both kids because it would be perfect because I noticed it had a playground and a beach. Let me just say, that the kids had a blast! The playground is a very nice playground and there’s plenty of shaded areas with picnic tables. The beach is very clean and the lifeguard is on duty at 10 AM. My daughter had a great time looking at the bird houses in the picnic area which is well shaded and has great views. The beaches within sight of the Gazebo so the kids could swim there's a small playground connected to the beach area and there are several barbecue grills picnic tables and there is bathroom facilities also. It's a real nice setting well-kept up and fairly new in build and Design with an Adirondack twist to it. We had a great time there everyone...
