Edit This review is now going down to one star after our interaction with the manager. He called us saying that this is entirely all our fault and told us all the things WE “should have” done differently. He became so angry we had to end the call, he continued to text us blaming us for our poor experience. He had the opportunity to make this right, but he chose to make it worse and make us feel even more uncomfortable.
This place is NOT for solo female travelers!!!
This place is very cute, however, this is not the place we saw online. That’s very disappointing, especially when there’s nothing horrible with the aesthetic here. However, the safety is terrible and so are a lot of details with the rooms.
Biggest safety concern, THE DOORS DO NOT LOCK!!!!! The man next to me had trouble with his door all night. Mine didn’t even have a passcode, it was never locked unless I was inside and had it dead bolted. Meaning neither I nor my possessions were safe at any time that dead bolt wasn’t on, and my belongings were open to the public when I left the room.
Next things are not as important as safety but still annoying to deal with when you’re paying these prices.
-the thermostat is just for show, it does not work. Woke up at 5am covered in sweat because it’s always 73° in each room apparently
-walls are PAPER thin. We heard every bump and groan throughout the whole place last night. Not great if you’re looking for a peaceful place to stay
-the bathrooms are hilariously tiny. Showers are about 4 feet wide, however they put the sink in front of it so you probably only have about 2-3 feet at most. So if you’re on the larger side….I’d look somewhere else. This place is not ADA friendly, let alone fat friendly.
-No appliances are plugged in, so get ready to move some furniture! Also, when you turn off the main light, it shuts off power to the outlets (there’s MAYBE 3 in here at most). So you can either have dead electronics in the morning, or you can sleep with a massive light on.
Please look into other, more safer...
Read moreRedeeming qualities for a stay I won’t revisit. Location is fantastic, renos are newer with moderate quality build with a decent but not great aesthetic. The issues for me focus around safety: multiple guests with apparent door locking issues. The convenience of travel was negated by the need to plug in any electronics, a wet floor, and non working outlets.
When my girlfriend posted her review which I’m basically reiterating, the manager got very upset at his rating. He called us almost already yelling and seemed to blame us for the things we should’ve known somehow. Never once did he ask about our safety or if we were okay. Instead he aggressively informed us that he would be there in 5 minutes to talk. This is at 9am, while we’re still there, minutes after my girlfriend posted her review. We had to grab all of our stuff and SPEED out of the lot after multiple phone calls and texts.
He made himself so upset on the phone. It’s clear he was only concerned about his rating and not his guests safety or how their stay was. We had to hang up on him because he wouldn’t let us speak because he was yelling so loud. He continued to text us and blame us on our personal cell phone.
If you’ve never worked a day in customer service, you shouldn’t be a manager. I get bad day theory but this was a frightening experience, especially when our review said we had safety concerns.
I just want to reiterate: if you are a women traveler, disabled, or large, these rooms have safety and comfort concerns where I’d recommend strongly you look elsewhere.
(I want to love this place typing this is sad for me, but unfortunately that was...
Read moreThe place is spotlessly clean and very well maintained. It feels like it was built recently and everything looks fresh and modern, both inside and out. The check-in process is fully automated — you receive your code the day before — and it worked smoothly for us. Just one tip: the cellular reception in the area is a bit spotty, so it’s best to have your code saved offline.
But the real reason this place deserves the highest rating is not just how it looks, but how it’s run and how issues are handled. During our stay we had two problems come up, and both were solved with exceptional care and speed.
On our last day, our lock suddenly stopped recognizing our code and we couldn’t get back in. I called the number from the communications email and Erica responded right away. Within minutes she texted me to say Keith was on his way — and sure enough, he arrived even earlier than promised. He quickly fixed the lock and provided us with a new code, all with a smile.
Later, one of the toilets got clogged. Once again, Keith came by promptly and resolved it professionally without any hassle. Both times, we were left genuinely impressed not just by the quick response, but by the kindness and professionalism of the people helping us. It made us feel taken care of, and that’s something you don’t always get when traveling.
If I had one small suggestion, it would be this: the booking site doesn’t mention that the 3-bedroom house has two washrooms, and it would be nice to have photos of the specific house you’re reserving. But honestly, this is just a detail — overall, our experience...
