Malls have become much more dead over the years and they have been looking for stores to take over the stores that closed down and couldnāt keep up with the 2008 recession and online shopping. This is a dead mall. There isnāt much to visit at this mall, but you will still find some cool things here and there. You will also find things that you will need in regards to clothes and home decoration, albeit on the more expensive side. You pay more for better quality, but some stuff is more than it should be.
The food court basically has nothing. Everything they did have is closed down. There even isnāt a big fast food counter to order from.
Very clean mall, though.
I donāt come shopping here anymore. I will visit it for a nostalgia trip or to find/pick up some last minute christmas gifts. Might find a nice shirt or two for myself as well.
I remember visiting this mall as a kid in the 00ās. The foodcourt had a lot of different options. Including a Mexican stand. My Mother would take us there after our visit to a few kid clothing stores like Limited Too. I remember at on point we always just got subway when coming there.
My older brother used to work in the small movie theater⦠which closed down long ago because of bedbugs. He always tells me how it used to be a hang out spot for a lot of kids his age in the 00ās. He would always catch a friend hanging out there everytime he visited.
The change of time is not the...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhat? Why? What happened here!? This mall hasn't always been spectacular but back in the day it absolutely served a purpose in the community. I went here recently after being out of the area for years and can't believe the state it's in. Once upon a time it had a movie theater but that closed forever ago. Was it the best? Absolutely not. But it was a good local place to watch a movie. There used to be a food court. Now it's 3 eateries in that same area down from so many more options. Sears is long gone but they never replaced it. It's just walled up. A few stores still remain but it's just a former shell of itself. The Macy's still has the same exact carpet and floors from when I was a kid. That was 20yrs ago. It's on the smaller side of malls. Not as big as Danbury or the galleria in Poughkeepsie. Somehow with it being small it still doesn't have full occupancy for stores. Several store fronts are shuttered. I believe they have food trucks on the weekend which is nice. Ones a grilled cheese truck that does very good business. All in all the JV Mall was never an amazing place to be but it at least was somewhere to go. There's no reason to go here these days. If you used to go here back in the day and are in the area and think to yourself "I should stop by there. I spent so much time there as a kid"...
