The Coach - Victor Torres - Hands down one of the Best coaches ive worked with in any capacity. Once you tell him your goals, he outlines the path to make it happen, and holds YOU accountable for the goal YOU set in the first place. Thats what a coach should do, ensure you get what you set out to get from the experience - hes not going to let YOU quit on YOURSELF. And there is no lack of commitment on his end. Very Professional, a great human being, and a pleasure to work with.
The Facility - spotless clean. No lack of equipment or attention to detail. Everyone treats the facility with respect as if its their own - because Vic allows it to be our own.
The Training - this is not a Mc' Dojo. this is the real deal. Learning Martial arts correctly isnt always sunshine and rainbows. Its a commitment, and takes great leadership. This is the place you want to come if you value; skill development, not skipping the fundamentals, basics build foundation. that said - there is very advanced techniques and skills that can be earned and acquired - and Victorious caters to that. These guys win titles - not just Instagram likes.
Team - I said team, because the group that trains here seem to be like a family. Long term patrons, with the same respect and similar goals. I was instantly welcomed...but held accountable to the seriousness of the sport. We have tons of fun together - but things are treated seriously and given the respect the sport demands - its not video games - its self defense, offense, and mastery with the human body and brain as weapons when needed. Should be treated like a real weapon should be - respected and managed to your level.
All and all - if you want to hang around like minded people, develop your brain and body, and use it for experience and confidence, or use it as an opportunity to get in the ring - victorious will get you there if You can muster the commitment to excellence.
PS** Get some Private lessons with Vic first! I was blessed with the opportunity to start 1:1 with Vic - develop some essential skills, vocabulary, and movement patterns crucial to success. The 1:1's were absolutely the reason i kept coming back and felt some confidence going into the open classes. DONT SKIP THIS STEP, even if you THINK you know Martial arts, DO SOME 1:1s WITH VIC. Pony up for a few sessions ahead of time and do this right! - gave me a...

Read moreI'm new to the sport, and was looking for a place that could accommodate that. I had very little experience in muay thai before coming to this gym, but was very pleased to find that that really wasn't an issue! I take the evening muay thai classes which are mixed levels, and felt plugged in, and very welcome, right away. The class instructor, as well as the classmates I have been paired with, have been so helpful in building up my skills and teaching me technique. They work with me where I am at, but also push me in very beneficial ways. I feel like I am improving, and look forward to seeing what new skills we will be developing each night!
I have a pretty sedentary job, in which I'm sitting at a desk for 12+ hours a day. I love getting to come to class, work hard, get stronger, and blow off some steam. It has been so much more rewarding to learn muay thai than to just go to a gym for a work out, because while I really do get a good work out here, it also gives me a goal to work towards, as well as some accountability. On top of that, as a native Californian who is relatively new to the area, Victorious MMA has been phenomenal in providing me with the opportunity to connect with other people. It feels like a community here, with very evident camaraderie, and a desire get to know each other as we work hard alongside each other during class. With as much as I work, it can be hard to get to know new people, but I've found that this has been a good place to do that. I've only been here a short time, but I would say that coming here for the classes alone would be worth it enough, but there's actually more to get out of this...
