It breaks my heart to write this because I genuinely thought I had finally found the perfect gym. Crunch Fitness (Tucker location) seemed like a dream â affordable, well-equipped, great amenities, and classes included. As someone on a weight loss journey, I was inspired and excited.
I decided to try their personal training program. When I signed up, I requested a female trainer. A few days later, a man named Bo (who I later found out is the manager) contacted me instead. That was red flag number one, but I tried to stay open-minded and gave it a shot. We didnât really connect, but I still wanted to push forward for the sake of my goals.
I told Bo the training prices were high and I might not be able to afford them long-term. He assured me I could freeze my account for up to 3 months and cancel afterward â thatâs the only reason I agreed to start. I paid for my first session with that understanding.
Then the real issues started.
I showed up for my first session â the one I already paid for â and was told Bo was on PTO. No one informed me. Not only did Bo fail to notify me, but he also didnât tell his team someone was scheduled to train with him. I spoke to three different staff members that day, and no one seemed to know how to help. Eventually, I asked to freeze my account, as Bo said I could. But I was told Iâd need to give 10 daysâ notice, and Iâd still be charged again in two days for the next two sessions. Totally ridiculous â but whatever. I told them to consider this my 10-day notice and cancel the plan. Again, no one knew how to help, so I was told to return the next day to speak to Savanna.
The next day, Savanna told me I had âcommitted to three monthsâ and couldnât cancel until after that, with a 10-day notice. I explained that three other staff members never mentioned this and that I only agreed to pay based on Boâs claim I could freeze and cancel at any time. She basically said there was nothing she could do and encouraged me to âmake the best of itâ â not even acknowledging my concerns about affordability.
Since I was told I had no choice, I tried to make the best of it. I did two sessions with Savanna â and one of them only lasted 15 minutes. I literally had to finish that session on my own. At that point, I knew this whole experience was unacceptable. I voiced my concerns again and tried to cancel, only to be told that my cancellation window would had been within the first seven days⌠The same seven days where my trainer no-showed, I asked 3 different people to cancel the plan and no one could help me??? Those seven days?!
They even tried to gaslight me and claim the session was never scheduled for the day I showed up â that it was for the following week. That wasnât true. I had already asked for my account to be paused until I actually had a first session. What they saw in the system was someone trying to help by rescheduling me for another session but I wasnât satisfied with that.
I still havenât heard from Bo â the manager who started all this. I asked Savanna to have him contact me. Itâs now been four days and nothing, but yet I was charged again for 2 more sessions.
Whatâs most frustrating is how little anyone seemed to care. My whole experience was tainted because this gym clearly values money over people. The lack of communication, mismanagement, and policy confusion was exhausting and incredibly discouraging. I hate confrontation, but I refuse to let this slide. Iâve had to escalate this outside the gym just to stop being charged. Iâm currently still fighting it so I wouldnât recommend this location to anyone serious about their fitness journey.
P.s they only acknowledge 5 star reviews. That shows they have very little customer support or care for clients with poor experiences. Itâs been over a week and I still have not...
Read moreOn February 22, 2025, I signed a personal training agreement at your Tucker, GA location. Unfortunately, on March 4, I suffered a serious accident in which I fell face-first onto concrete, resulting in severe facial injuries requiring reconstructive surgery on my upper maxilla. This event left me under strict medical care and temporarily unable to function normally.
By March 7, I was finally well enough to make a phone call and contacted CRUNCH to cancel my personal training agreement. I was told that I needed to visit the location in person to process the cancellation. I came in on March 10 and canceled my CRUNCH gym membership.
Despite this, a charge of $344 was withdrawn from my account. I returned to the location to inquire about this and was informed by Dakota that the personal training (PT) agreement is separate from the gym membership. This was never clearly explained at the time of sign-up, nor by my trainer. Accepting responsibility for not having understood this separation, I then went to the PT desk on the same day and canceled the personal training.
At no point did anyone inform me of a 7-day cancellation clause. My trainer assured me everything would be canceled and that no further charges would occur. I took him at his word. Again, there was no mention of a 7-day cancellation requirement at that time.
On June 5, I was stunned to see an additional $516 withdrawn from my account. I called the club to confirm the cancellation status, and they acknowledged that my gym membership was canceled on March 10 and the PT agreement was canceled on March 25. Still, no one mentioned the 7-day requirement until today (June 10, 2025).
I have tried repeatedly to speak to a manager. I was told Dakota or Bo would return my calls, but no one did. I drove to the clubâover an hour from my new residence in Covington, GAâonly to find neither manager available. After my accident, I lost my job, my home, and had to move in with my daughter during recovery. I finally returned to work in May, only to find CRUNCH had withdrawn another large sum from my account.
Today, I met with Bo, who informed me that due to the 7-day cancellation clause (buried in fine print), the withdrawals were valid. According to him, I would have had to cancel by March 1âbefore my accident even occurred.
I have not used a single session. I tried to cancel in person on March 10, just days after a major accident and surgery. I believe I acted promptly and in good faith. I even accepted the initial $344 charge as a result of miscommunication and told my trainer to pass those sessions along to someone else who could benefit. But the second charge of $516âespecially after being assured nothing more would be draftedâis unacceptable.
It appears the only way to avoid being penalized in this situation would have been to anticipate a life-altering medical emergency before it happened or to die. This process has been disheartening and frustrating. I now have 20 unused sessions, I no longer live near the club, I no longer have an active membership, and I was misled multiple times regarding what would happen next.
I understand policies and legalities, but I urge you to also consider the moral and human side of this issue. I am simply asking CRUNCH to do the right thing and address a clear case of miscommunication and lack of transparencyâespecially considering the extreme circumstances.

Read moreI would like to share my personal experience working out at crunch fitness in Tucker. I started working out here when I realized the trainer I enjoyed doing classes with at another gym moved and I followed her to crunch. Shaneen has been my trainer since August and she never ceases to amaze me with her level of professionalism, ability to create work outs that target the areas Iâd like to improve on, and keeping me motivated by checking in on me throughout the week. She really took the time to get to know me and understand my personal experience with working out and issues with my body growing up. As a former athlete who hasnât pushed myself since college, (Iâm 34 now) the workouts she designed to get me to where I am today, all make sense to reaching my goals. My lifestyle includes lots of âfarm choresâ I love gardening and taking care of my chickens and lots of yard work. This time last year, I struggled carrying a 40lb bag of feed to my chickens, today I can easily carry two bags of feed! That may not seem like a lot to everyone but because of Shannen taking the time to get to know me she has made that possible! She pushes me the way I need to be pushed, inspires me with her own weight loss journey and life experiences and I know she truly cares about me as her client. I have had personal trainers in the past, they only lasted as long as my initial contract was for. Iâll be signing up for the third time at the end of the month. She also goes above and beyond on the days I donât have her. She checks in on me during my workouts and is willing to help me with exercises and forms if she notices my form is off and isnât hitting the target areas for the exercises she has me doing. With all of that being said, if youâre looking for a trainer who is passionate about what they do, truly cares about you as a person and wants to see you be the best version of yourself, look no further⌠Shannen is your girl! A huge thank you Shannen for being so incredibly supportive, always challenging me to push myself harder and down right being a...
