Vip Nail — Local services in Tucson

Terrible experience today. I booked an appointment for myself and 2 daughters for pedis and manicure for myself. Kids booked for simple paint job on nails. Appointments were booked a day prior and confirmed by a phone call from the owner.

They got started on me and one daughter right away, the other was left to sit for over an hour before anyone touched her. In the meantime I could hear the phone ringing with requests for more appointments, all of whom were taken in before my one daughter was touched.

The tech doing my pedicure cut my toe, and told me “oh it’s not bleeding much, it’s ok”. The pedicure was rushed and looks absolutely terrible.

In an effort to get us out of there, one tech started bouncing between my manicure and my daughter's pedicure. Both our results are awful. On my manicure no cuticle care was provided, no lotion applied, it was literally cut my nails, file them, then slap on nail polish. Nail polish that didn’t even go to the end of my nails.

I ended paying 302$ for 3 crappy pedicures, and 2 terrible manicures. One child actually got a decent manicure. I was charged full adult pricing for my children, who are 7 and 11, rather than the princess menu that shows online. When one of the techs tried to show the owner the price for the combo mani/pedi she was snapped at and then the menu was taken out of her hands.

Update - the owner has called me several times since this review. He did explain that he discounted services and asked me why I left a tip if I was unhappy. I told him that one guy being expected to perform services on 2 people at the same time was ridiculous and that I felt the tech did his best with how rushed he was.

He did offer to repaint my nails at no charge. I am not going to have my nails fixed as I am more frustrated with the overall experience and us being ignored in favor of other customers to...

DO NOT GO HERE, I had my nails and toes done here this morning. I am not one to complain about services for my nails but this was by far the worst manicure I’ve ever had. I didn’t say anything before I left the establishment because I didn’t want to make a big deal about it. But after further convincing of my boyfriend I went back to see if I could get refunded to go somewhere else and fix it or maybe an acrylic replacement for the service. I tried to pull someone to the side when I arrived at the front and not make a huge deal about it, and the “owner” started raising his voice at me in the front reception area that I was wrong about the service. He made a huge scene and refused to help. No refund or fix at all and no apology. I am in customer service myself and have never experienced anything like this.

I asked for a gel manicure, file and square shape. I had length before this service too. Hardly any cuticle care as well and he used nail clippers (I would have stopped him but I usually have trust in the nail techs and thought “sure I guess this is what I needed”)

The staff is extremely friendly but does not disclose what they are charging you for. For example: last time I went my daughter and I both got full set with gel color and I got a pedicure. They charged me $360 then had the nerve to ask if I was going to add a tip when unfortunately that was all the money I had. No sweat. Went back this time for two fills. (Mind you I went in two weeks ago for a fill and it was only $40 with gel color for myself only.) Today they charged me $135. I asked what specifically was so expensive this time. They told me my daughter got a design and her nails were long, okay fine, but I don’t feel that should be an additional $55 prior to me adding the tip. I would feel more comfortable if they were more forthcoming with what they are charging me for rather than speaking to each other and then flashing a number on a calculator at me. Most shops will tell you before starting the design how much more the design costs, how much more gel color cost… etc. Unfortunately, I will no longer...
