
The owner goes above and beyond to make the decorations look high end. She ordered the color table clothes, center pieces and additional décor to my liking since she didn't already have them. The security guard provided was very alert and helpful. The downside is having no where for the bride and groom to get dressed other than the bathroom or kitchen. You need to leave the clothes and shoes you arrived in and any other belongings you have in the kitchen. The wedding “package” literature is not specific at all, as the owner reports each package is customized. There is a Silver, Gold and Platinum package in the literature but this does not outline general prices or inclusions of each package. When we booked the venue and paid the $500 deposit to reserve our date approximately 9 months in advance, we did not have an exact headcount or specific RSVP number so we wrote approximately 60 people on the contract. When it grew to 70 people she said that wouldn’t affect the pricing. When it grew to 80 people, we knew it would change but we ended up being charged for each plate over 60 rather than each plate over 70. It would be helpful to have prices written so people can build their own custom package and know specifically what they are being charged for. When we reserved the event and through out the entire nine months leading up to the wedding we were told the package we got included ice, water, soda and juice but not alcohol and mixers. Literally about a week prior to the event we were informed the juice and soda were not for bar use and those would be considered mixers so this was an additional expense for us to go buy juice for cranberry vodka or and soda for jack and coke, which we did not plan on. Everything she custom designs is verbal so it feels like it is subject to change. Our package included food through the venue but at our dinner sampling, the owner informed us the meal did not include butter for the bread, so we also had to buy BUTTER. The most heart breaking negative of it all was the DJ. My husband and I worked hard to create a DINNER play list and DANCE playlist to include the song name and artist. Unfortunately, the DJ played songs he thought would be good before getting through every song on our play list. When it was clear the dance floor was clearing out because of a bad song (of his choice), he let the entire three minute song play out instead of changing it out to a different song. The DJ played remixed versions of the songs on our play list that made the song almost unrecognizable. The remix was not the typical mixing DJ’s do in between songs as a transition, the entire song was remixed and made the “dance song” a song we couldn’t dance to. I had guests commenting on how bad the DJ was and the songs being played. I spoke with the DJ numerous times through out the night about my concerns and he said it would have been helpful if I created a playlist with the link to the songs. I was never informed of this, even when I spoke with him via phone and email the weeks leading up to the wedding. Had I known this would be his request, I would have created a play list with links rather than providing just the song title and artist. The DJ also seemed to have English as a second language, which is fine, but it seemed that he was not comfortable engaging the crowd. He didn’t want to make any of the announcements we requested and asked for my friends or family to make the announcements as it would be “better coming from them” so I had to unexpectedly ask friends and family to make announcements the night of the event that they were not prepared to make. The music and DJ portion of the wedding was so devastating that I ended the night early. Read moreI threw my wedding reception here, although, everything was beautiful there were some bumps in the road. I didn't feel like the money was worth paying for they wanted every nickel and dime. The communication was horrible they didn't remember WHAT exactly we paid for as far as cleaning fee etc. The last thing I wanted to do on my wedding night was talk money! We basically had to mold our schedules to what fit hers, as for when she was available to finish last min decorating. The service's only spoke Spanish and were waited to be directed to do things such as handing out water and drinks which was SUPER frustrating, the last thing I wanted was my guests to sit without drinks. There is a lack of kitchen equipment, although again it did it's job. There was a lack of supplies for servicing utensils which delayed dinner by 30 mins. Mind you I planned this from out of state and again it was super frustrating to get ahold of the owner, call backs etc. When coming into town knowing I would be there for x amount of time, I was on a timely schedule where she would unfortunately not call back or give a schedule to be availability. It would be extremely helpful if owner was there to organize and coordinate HER services and staff she hires especially cause my family and I are not Spanish speaking. Read moreQuince was held here last Friday, it was so hot when me and my family arrived at 6:00pm, it only got hotter as more people arrived. By 8:00pm, once the party arrived, it was unbearable. Me and my family waited till 8:30pm to say happy birthday to the birthday girl then we left. The heat exhausted my 6 and 9 yr old and they were ready to leave. It was cooler outside then inside and as a guest this is absolutely unacceptable. This is a pivotal moment in any 15 yr old young girls life and for her party to be cleared out by 11:00pm is disheartening. And for the owner to not come out, fix the issue, or even try to make it right after the fact is not ok. If anyone by chance rents from Crystal Event Center make sure you have some sort of refund in the contract if the air conditioning ends up not working properly.
