After dealing with inexpensive, incompetent landscapers for 13 years, I realized my yard looked horrible and the money spent was not well spent. I found Horticulture Unlimited by asking several reputable nurseries whom they would recommend. From my first meetings with Horticulture Unlimited personnel, which included a meeting with one of the owners, I knew I had made the right decision. Everything is in-house, from landscape design to landscape maintenance and the owners are both degreed horticulturists, one even a certified arborist. One of the owners, Dawn Fried, has written 2 books on desert plants and landscaping--Design Build & Bloom: Creating the Perfect Southwest Landscape, and The Art of Southwest Landscaping. These books are full of plant and design ideas--which is extremely helpful if you want to have an informed conversation about the kinds of plants you prefer and what works best in your yard environment. Even with all this expertise, I found both their yard renovation and maintenance proposals to be reasonable, and every person I have dealt with returns emails and phone calls promptly and professionally. So if you are tired of paying the guy with the truck and want a garden not just a yard of rocks and struggling plants, I would not hesitate to hire Horticulture Unlimited. Horticulture Unlimited came to the rescue after my garden’s irrigation system failed and all my plants died in the summer heat. My irrigation system was completely removed and updated by Horticulture Unlimited with all new lines and timer. Rosalee discussed plant choices with me and all the plants were replaced but only after the poor soil was also replaced with rich soil. Rosalee picked out all the plants that are low care and require little water making my garden easy to care for as well as a delight to look at. Pricing was reasonable and everyone on the project patiently answered all my questions and accommodated some changes I requested. I live in a neighborhood where Horticulture Unlimited has been taking care of our entryway landscaping for over 17 years. I help as a liaison to our homeowner's association to manage special projects. Recently, our supervisor Andrew had his tree & ground crews, do a huge clean-up in our two water retention basins. They were filled with old Mesquite deadwood and overgrown brush. It looks amazing now and neighbors are so pleased. Over the years, we've had them re-do our irrigation system too.
