I normally don't bash fellow small business owners publicly like this, but I was just doing a Door Dash delivery from "The Egg Connection" on Fort Lowell and Country Club in Tucson, AZ. I walked in and was greeted by a waitress who told me the food would be ready in 5 minutes. She even gave me a free drink while I waited... I'm still sitting there 10 minutes later so I KINDLY walked up and asked a guy for an estimate on the order and the guy literally RAISED his voice, getting super defensive and saying I was being rude... All I asked was how much longer... I even asked him with a smile. Mind you, his wait staff seemed very nice, but the owner is an ABSOLUTE D!©head. Zero people skills and I could tell he is like that with his employees probably too, cuz I asked the Waitress what his problem was, and she said, "He's like that everyday." And I said, I'm sorry, for him. Lol. Then on my way out I thanked him for his customer service and told him to be blessed! 🙏🏽 That got him even more, cuz I didn't react the way he expected me to... I k!lled him with kindness and a smile 😁. But yeah, that guy definitely says the N and the S word regularly with his friends, when speaking about brown folks. DONT SUPPORT HIS BUSINESS!! SHARE TF OUT OF...

Amazing cornbread and delicious bacon! Biscuits and Gravy: the biscuits were soft and fluffy, the gravy was good. I am always disappointed by the gravy in Tucson places, but theirs was much better than most. It came with a huge amount of bacon. I think I counted 14 slices of delicious, just right bacon. Might be the best bacon in town. Ordered my eggs scrambled soft with cheese. They came perfect to my order. Got a pancake on the side. It was sweet by itself and had a lot of vanilla. I loved the flavor, my GF did not. The texture was too spongy for me. GF ordered the chicken enchilada omelette. The chicken was diced rather than shred. By itself the chicken was moist and tender but lacked flavor of its own. The Omelette was huge and tasted good on the whole, but it was rather "one note": red sauce. Although it was pretty good red sauce, it got tiresome because it was the only flavor. She got a piece of cornbread on the side and it was the star of the show (sharing spotlight with the bacon). Moist, soft, sweet but not too sweet, nice corn meal flavor, beautiful color, and a HUGE piece. It was just wonderful. Their coffee is typical. Not bad, not particularly good. Service was...

The Egg Connection has been a long-time hidden gem in Tucson. My wife and I decided to spend Father's Day here and we were not disappointed. Our server, one of the owner's sons, was friendly, attentive, and courteous. He even went out of his way to track down a coke zero for me out of the secret stash. My wife had the corned-beef hash and I had the chicken-fried steak. Both entrees came with home-fries (excellent, cooked in what appeared to be the rendered fat from their chorizo), two eggs (cooked to order), and a bread side (wheat toast for me, English muffin for her). Our loaded-down plates arrived within five minutes and we tucked in. Everything was cooked well and seasoned properly, which can be missed on busy mornings. My steak was tender with a just crisp breading and plenty of good white gravy. My wife's hash was hot and crispy and was a big old serving of comfort to her Midwest heart. We had ordered one of their dinner-plate size cinnamon rolls but ended up taking it home because we were stuffed. Thank you to the staff at the Egg Connection for doing what you do and for doing it so well. We were more than pleased and look forward to visiting...

Our first visit. My GF had an omelette. I ordered bacon & eggs with grits & biscuits with a side of gravy. The bacon was meaty, delicious and copious — best part of the meal. Grits… sigh. No matter the Tucson restaurant, grits are always served coldish, lumpy and sweet as if sugar were added… Yet I keep ordering them, hoping to find that happy exception. No dice here, either… when in Tucson, just skip the grits and get the hash browns. The rest of the food was on par for a diner. Atmosphere rather spartan, kinda like a Jerry Bob’s — clean enough, interior could use some sprucing up. Service was fine, our wait staff pleasant and efficient. Prices typical of businesses largely exceeding inflation rates — you won’t find much under $10. All-in-all, a nice local breakfast joint.

Second time at this restaurant. It was quite busy but that didn’t stop us from being seated and served in a very timely fashion. Ordered a Scrambled Egg and Corned Beef Hash, and a Green Chili Omelette, each with Home Fried Potatoes on the side. IMO, the fluffiness of the scrambled eggs outshone the fluffiness of the omelette but both were tasty. Potatoes were well cooked. The portion sizes are basically getting a 2 for 1. Too much for each of us to finish, and leftovers just about amounted to another meal. Enjoyed the restaurant again, I’ll likely return for more.
