I pop in galleries frequently when walking, but I go to this one on purpose! Diana Madaras is my favorite living painter, by far! (Van Gogh for the dead) And I do like many other live painters. I lover southwest and Tucson themes most. The Gallery itself is beautifully decorated, which is not surprising. There are some other non-Madaras items featured from time to time. Diana is there several times a month and you can get your items signed by her when she is there, which is a real treat! The staff are super friendly and very accommodating, even on the phone, online etc. when you are trying to buy stuff to get it shipped out of state. So, customer service is outstanding. Subscribe to their list-serve/email list. They don't bombard you, but do invite you to various things they have once or twice a month, and online sales! There are SO many different kinds of things you can buy that feature her art. It's really cool! So, there are paintings, and prints, of course, acrylic blocks, totes, coffee table books, hot plates, ceramic tiles, clipboards, calendars, note cards, stone coasters and so many more things featuring her more popular works. There's not much that is 'cheap', but for art, unique, Tucson and southwestern art, from an artist you can get to sign it, I'd say the prices are reasonable. And the art...
Read moreI had planned on visiting the Madaras Gallery many times but recently had friends in town who commented on the one Madaras print that I have in my home. I made a point to take them to the gallery after our hike in Sabino that day. I was sooo impressed! I had no intention of purchasing anything because I don't have any space for additional art work at the moment. I was so pleased to see so many beautiful gift items! I purchased a lovely glass cutting board with a beautiful 'cow', one of Diana's latest creations. My friends both selected some gift items and prints and will no doubt always think of their wonderful trip to Tucson and the gallery every time they look at them! I also fell in love with several giclee's that I will no doubt be back for eventually. We happened to be there on a Sunday (early afternoon), hot and dusty from the trail we had just hiked, and were delighted to be offered Mimosa's as we walked in the door! Apparently this is a Sunday 'thing' so I highly recommend going...
Read moreMy wife and I stopped in for a very quick browse while running errands on a Friday morning. That visit turned out to be the highlight of our day. The art was absolutely wonderful as was the atmosphere of the gallery and how welcoming, helpful and pleasant both Allie and Leilani were. We don’t like being hovered while looking or the associate selling us. It’s something which will push us out the door when it happens. We were treated to assistance which we loved, as if they instinctively knew and agreed with us. A warm and inviting welcome followed by a check-in once in a while to ask if they could assist us in any way. When I asked questions the answers were both immediate and well stated. Allie and Leilani both showed us they took their roles seriously and treated the business as through it was their own. The gallery’s content, appearance and staff make us want to stop by to see new and different works and we look forward...
