I truly hate to leave a negative review on a business that brings so much culture in Tucson. I never leave reviewed online, but I haven’t also been so sick after eating out. Moreover, Indian cuisine is one of my favorites, which means I have had Indian foods for many years from different places in the USA and abroad and I have never gotten sick. I am also used to any ethnic foods, spices, and even use a lot of ethnic food spices from different part of the world when I cook my own food at home.
Yesterday was my first time visiting Indian Twist for lunch around 1PM ish. I usually go to the Indian restaurant near the university, but I decided to explore a new place since I was in the area. I also looked at the nice reviews and felt that it was worth my time . Below are my reasons below:
I dined-in at the restaurant around 1PM or so. It was my first meal of the day. Hence, I ordered a few dishes. I usually go for spicy, but I asked for mild because I am recovering from a tooth removal and just wanted to be safe. I was surprised that mild there, meant that it was not spicy( at alll) , but I still enjoyed my food and drinks ( mango/milk, water). I sprinkled a little bit of the table sweet spice on my Naan. I had a few left overs and drove back directly home, which is only about 11 minutes, and put my food in the refrigerator. Then, at 6PM, I hate some of my left overs. So for lunch and dinner, I only had food from Indian Twist. By the way, I am also one who pays attention to washing hands and at least using sanitizer when I go out and eat.
Around 1130PM as I was getting ready for bed that’s when I started to have extreme diarrhea. I can’t remember when was the last time I got sick from eating food as an adult and I eat all kind of foods because I travel a lot. Today is Saturday and have been going to the restroom for at least every 1 hour or so thinking about going to urgent care, but I am even nervous to be away from my house because what happened if I have to go? There is definitely something with the food and I am just sharing my experience.
The service was fine-the waitress did her job, she brought me everything that I needed, and, she didn’t have to come back to check on me and I was fine with that.
I gave 3 stars for atmosphere only because it was extremely loud and they were doing some constructions on the door and entrance. It was very loud, but nothing that anyone can’t take.
I gave the food one star because I won’t go back to Indian Twist due to my experience of feeling sick since I have had the food. Though the food tasted good, there must be something not sanitary...
Read moreHave been wanting to try Indian Twist for a while and boy I'm disappointed that I did not try it sooner. We decided to go for dinner last night and holy cow..it is just the best!! The atmosphere is so inviting. Absolutely love the lightening fixtures and the open kitchen. Casual with some class if that makes any sense. Everything was so clean and everyone had on a mask.
As soon as you walk through the door the smells almost slap you across the face as a wake up call. They let me know I was in for a real treat. Felt as though they danced around me as I was being seated. The hostess and our server were just beyond kind. They made us feel as if they were inviting us into their home for dinner.
If flavors, spices, and beautiful food do not appeal to you, this is definitely not the place for you. Every single thing (including the water) had flavor. We ordered an appetizer of Chicken Samosa. Chicken Vindaloo, Lamb Chops, and Garlic Naan as an entrees. Definitely know your spicy level. We ordered medium for the Chicken Vindaloo and it was still very spicy. I could eat it, but I finished the carafe of water and my Dr. Pepper. The lamb chops by far the best in Tucson. Soo tender and cooked to perfection. I remember thinking the meat was so fresh. Everything was served piping hot which I absolutely love!! It was so delicious we had to order a Chicken/Lamb Biryani and Garlic Naan to go.
I'm writing this review as I am enjoying my left overs for breakfast today. Debating on if I need to order Chicken Samosas for delivery. LOL I'm so glad you can order take out, delivery, or dine in. If I could give this place a 10, I would give it a 20. The owner did come and speak with us and you can simply tell his passion for food. I thoroughly enjoyed our conversation with him. He has set the bar for exceptional Indian food in Tucson....
Read moreI recently wrote a review under the name “M J” it was a negative review and the owner replied accusing me of being a fake because I had no other reviews. So I decided to come on my main profile and you can see I’ve left over 100 reviews. I’m not a fake. If a restaurant is good, I’ll leave a good review. I would never slander a local business for no reason. I constantly support local businesses and love them whole heartedly. But if you charge me a lot of money and the service is not good, then I will leave an honest review.
I ordered chicken tikka masala here and my bowl was 90 percent sauce and a tiny bit of chicken. The chicken was also dry.
I have no reason to make that up. It was my honest experience.
I’ve read comments this owner has left on other reviews and it seems like he has such a big ego and every negative review must be “fake”. He said I should include a photo to prove my review. Sorry I didn’t take a photo. I don’t need a photo for my review to be real.
I have no reason to defame this place.
My mom ate here with her boyfriend too and they BOTH said the exact same thing. they received a little bit of chicken.
But they can charge you $15-17 for it?? It’s basically a scam.
The fact that the owner attacks anyone who doesn’t leave a perfect review should tell you all you need to know about this place.
Take some constructive criticism and give people the portion they deserve since they are paying so much for a plate.
If you’re running a business and can’t take constructive criticism then you...
