I have been frequenting this place for about a year and since I started coming to this location I found service sub par, got food poisoning with the coffee I picked up 4 months ago (did not ask for anything in return, except to mention they need to check dates on their milk and was barely acknowledged), my drinks are now ALWAYS warm and not hot since I began coming to this location. The employees who walked over to me today after I tried to get their attention but saying excuse me was SO rude. Britt dumped my warm coffee with such vigor in the sink next to me that it splashed everywhere just barely missing me. Then stepped away huffing and puffing and stared around in the middle of the other employees path before a co worker asked her what's wrong. She then turned towards me and with an attitude said "I don't know what she is talking about". That was all because I asked if possible to heat my coffee before I drink it since holding the cup (missing sleeve on it as well), felt NO heat at all and knew all I needed was for them to steam it a little more. I began staring at her "Karen's" temper tantrum as she walked away to get something from the storage area. I asked who the manager was and the lady taking drink orders pointed to another woman. I let her know the interaction was completely UNACCEPTABLE. at which point after explaining she brought over a man working drive through orders. Still not clear who the manager is at this point and he was the third person I was explaining the interaction to. So I asked if someone can help me with her name and they all acted confused. So I repeated what is her name and pointed to her as she had returned and was standing there watching me. The name was barely uttered. I told her, her behavior is unacceptable for a service industry and she had ruined my day with her behavior of almost splashing coffee on me and how she answered me was beyond unprofessional and that I was surprised Starbucks standards have lowered to this level where everyone just accepts below standard performance. Then her behavior went from rude and entirely unprofessional to nice in a second and she said she understands what she had done and is sorry to have done it and asked what she can do to fix "the issue". I informed her listening and being kind is ALL she has to do. No more. As I walked out a friend was in drive through and he stated they have been so rude there that he completely avoids going in now. Also stated his drinks are ALSO are always warm. He said he now only comes to this location when he can't go anywhere else due to time. We both own busy businesses. He also said he held an interview there once where his interviewee ordered a drink and he went in later to ask for water and they told him NO because he has not purchased anything!!!!!!! This is what Starbucks is about now I guess. Then still upset I came to work where one of my employees informed me she also quit going there since her coffee continued to be warm and not hot and she had also encountered rude behaviors. I take the time to write this to warn anyone going to the Swan and FT Lowell location in Tucson to be well warned. If you want someone to ruin your day, then this is the place for you since asking for a hot coffee can lead to "I don't know what she is talking about", lots of huff and puffing and getting almost splashed with coffee!
UPDATE: I noticed after writing this review that she did splash me during her temper tantrum throwing my coffee into their single sink by order pick up area. I had two larger (about an inch each) stains on my...
Read moreWe come here daily, I'm almost hesitant to admit sometimes multiple times a day. We use to prefer the one in Crossroads Festival they recently closed permanently, but this one is okay. My one & only issue is that we both order the same exact drink everytime & the taste varies by a lot. I like an extra shot & I balance the taste by adding an extra pump of the flavoring. Sometimes it tastes perfect, just as it should, flavorful in both espresso & white mocha. Other times it tastes watered down and like it's half hot water, and yet other times its somewhere in between. I can't figure out what causes it. It's happened, albeit not nearly with the frequency it does at this one, but it's happened at every Starbucks we've been regulars at EXCEPT the one they closed in Crossroads. Go figure.
I use to take it back in since they say if you aren't happy with your drink they'll remake it, but one time they remade it twice but it was the same flavorless drink & of course, they acted like the problem was me. My husband tasted it & agreed it was very slightly flavored hot water. I should've told them to pour a little off and taste it themselves prior to putting it in a cup, but I didn't expect it to be the same. So they said "Well, we just arent gonna get this right today so here's 4 bucks off your next drink." I was like, "I just paid 6.50 for a drink I can't even drink, how is that a fair deal? How about I just order something else?" As I'm thinking, "So I dont get totally screwed on this purchase." They acted like I just wanted extra coffees for free, despite witnessing us throw them all away full.
Anyway, that made me never want to say anything about it again for fear of being labeled a PITA customer. It happens once or twice a week though. It's bizarre.
Aside from that, it's a Starbucks. Starbucks is Starbucks & there's not much variation from one to the next. (Except the one inside Casino Del Sol, that one is excellent & my...
Read moreI went through the DT this am with my son and like every time I go to any Starbucks I paid with my debit card . The sun was very bright and I could not read the screen on the card reader when asked if I wanted to leave a tip. Well, I let the barista know I couldn’t see the screen and she seemed irritated but moved it around a little and still I could not see it at all. I then said I do not wish to leave a tip today and she pulled the card reader closer to her. I assumed she did what I asked and moved past the prompt but in-fact she entered 5 dollars. It wasn’t until later in the day that I noticed through my banking app that my 12 dollar purchase for two drinks had become 17!!! I do not know the name of the employee, but she was working the window at about 9 am on 7/22 . Not to mention her attitude was not one I would expect a Starbucks barista to have. A few years ago I had another not so great experience at this location. A male employee informed me in the drive through that he could not serve me because I was vaping ( nicotine ) in my own car !? The vapor was not even close to entering the store from the drive through window. Where I work , that would be completely out of line for an employee to do even if it was actual cigarette smoke !! I’ve avoided this location, however today it was just convenient for us. I’m sure the employe in question today knew full well what she was doing . She is in no way an asset to your store and management needs to be aware . This location needs to be avoided. There are 3 other Starbucks locations within a few blocks of this store. The location at Grant and Swan is always on their game...
