Trident Grill II — Restaurant in Tucson

I Went there for a late launch with my girlfriend after shopping for a wedding dress for a big event in her life and a waitress (CORINNE) helped us, my friend ordered a burger and an Ice tea I ordered a salad and Ice water since I was very thirsty. We got our drinks and she left and I realized she left no straws, I did not see her around but it didn't bother me to get up and ask for my own straw, I do not like leaving all my gloss on the glass, anyway, when we ordered she brought our food she plot the plates rudely in front of us on the table and left. We try not to make much of it and we stay in our conversation. My salad had very little dressing and I was not seeing her around so I finally got up and I asked someone else for more dressing and we were having a good time and enjoying our food. Later on she comes and while my friend was still on her final bites she tried to take our plates and we tell her that we are still eating and she stays staring at us like you are done and rushing at us out we tell her again we are not done and I say can I get more water, she took my glass and roll her eyes and turned around, now she set me off and I said "Are you in a bad mood?" she kept walking away, cames back set the glass hard on the table and leaves quick. I do not know if it was that we were not a big ticket ,or the fact the things were showing in our table like straws or extra dressing that she did not bring to us cause she was MIA what set her off but she was the worst service I have ever had in my life, she was mean and with a big attitude, and that is why I am writing this review, we called the manager and he apologized and try to pay our billed, I refused his invitation because I was not about getting a free meal, I wanted a nice launch with my friend but CORINNE actions were extremely rude and disrespectful and acted like we were an inconvenience to her . No excuse for that, very disappointed. She had no empathy towards us, we did nothing to her to deserve that type of service, she made us feel very unwelcome and she was making it very clear all the way through that for what whatever reason she wanted us gone. We paid our bill and left. We used the words Please and Thank you but she was a Bully Waitress, even though the manager came in with sincerity and kindness the damaged was already done and we just wanted to leave but we appreciate his intervention, I think Hondo was his name, thank you Hondo. I must add that CORINNE has good balance when she placed hard the glass on the table it was full to the top and when I grabbed to sip on it I spilled over me and it was still full. I have visited this Excellent eatery, sports bar, and gathering place many times, so this review is long overdue. I knew after my first visit here that this welcoming establishment would be my go to venue for cheering on my U of A Wildcats and enjoying tasty food. My reasons for continuing to visit comprise a LONG list: The owner of the Trident restaurants is a Navy Seal and avid Washington Redskin fan; Samantha, the Hostess, has always been accommodating to our seating requests and my girlfriend and I are ALWAYS made to feel welcome by her; The managers here, such as Justin and Dean, are top notch....I have observed that they're always engaged and aware with what's going on, and when a challenge pops up, a frequent occurrence in the restaurant business, they quickly resolve it; Most importantly, whichever manager is on duty during a U of A game...they insure that the televisions are working well to bring our Wildcats Football to their patrons; The servers are, one and all, amazing. They're friendly, helpful, menu knowledgeable, efficient, and frequently check on our table for anything we might need or want. I must give out a special High Five to Carrie...who last Saturday dealt with some demanding, difficult customers and a lot of simultaneously happening situations with grace and poise, while providing excellent service to us and her other customers...Outstanding job, Carrie 👍 And now, the food....Try the Redskins.....delicious appetizer. Also, I highly recommend their Fish and Chips, Paleo Bowl salad, Mac and Cheese, Wildcat Burger, and Chicken Tenders. Their portions are beyond generous....ask them for a box to take home what you can't finish. Finally, I would like to comment on the atmosphere here. Mixed feelings. Food was delicious, portions were big, and it all arrived in a reasonable amount of time considering how busy they were. (And they are ALWAYS busy.) Burger not cooked as requested, but still good. It took several attempts to get some things we requested at the time we ordered. Order taken by waitress, appetizer delivered by a different person (who did not return with a requested item), meal delivered by yet another person (who also didn't return with a requested item.) Eventually got our stuff but pretty late in the meal. And then we went thirsty after our waitress vanished. We were about to go try to get refills ourselves when she finally appeared. She apologized, but by that time we were almost done eating. She was very friendly, and trying hard I suppose. The food was VERY good but it was a shame the experience was impacted by the service. And finally I will say that the place is... filthy. We sat on the patio, which is an otherwise great spot, but the entire patio surface is BLACK with years of grime. I don't think it has been touched since the place opened. The table surfaces need some attention as well. They all have that sticky feel of accumulated grime. Two words Trident... pressure washer.
