I was so excited to take my friend to Mayas after I had such a wonderful experience finding my wedding dress there and Margarita was a doll and just went above beyond. I made an appointment for Sunday in the afternoon. It wasn't too busy when we walked in which was nice. Maragita was with another bride so I was a little bummed. The lady that would be helping us had my friend fill out a questionnaire form and after that showed us where we'd be sitting. Then the lady directed us to the type of dresses my friend was looking for and we pulled a few for her. Mind you prior my friend did fill out a questionnaire letting them know budget and what not. As we were picking out dresses the lady let us know she had a customer at the counter said she'd be right back. When we got done picking out the dresses we had to wait for her because we needed the dresses clipped to be fitted. She came not too long after and apologized.. we told her no problem and she began clipping the dress. Then she walked away again and told us to let her know when she was in the next dress. This went on for a few dresses and began eating into our appointment (only 1.5 hours). I began to wonder what the point of making an appointment was if the lady wasn't even gonna be there to assist you and made you sit around and wait or chase her around the store. Anyways my friend found 2 dresses she fell in love with. I pulled the price tag and my heart sank for her because those dresses were Waayyy out of the price range. I remembered when I got my dress they found it somewhere in their clearance or discounted section and was wondering if they could do the same for her. I asked the lady when she finally came back if they had a discount section my friend could look at. While I was talking to her and asking about it she was walking away from me and didn't even acknowledge my question. I did feel bad for her because she did seem a bit frazzled. So I asked her again and then she was suddenly like I'm so sorry I forgot about the paper I had her fill out in the beginning. I was a little disappointed cuz I get just trying on dresses at first to figure out style but wouldn't you as the sales person take your customers budget for her wedding dress into consideration and bring her dresses in her price range or show her the clearance section? Finally with only 15 minutes left of our appointment she said she'd take the bride and only 2 other people to the sales section next door. When they came back they found 1 dress. I asked if they didn't have much back there to one of our other friends and she said I'm not sure because the lady was very pushy and hurried them up so they didn't get much time to actually look. The lady seemed like she was ready for us to leave once they got back and my friend tried on the last dress. I was thinking maybe the store was busy and thats why she was ready for us to leave... but no . When we were done the lady was out in the front talking to the seamstress and I didn't even see a customer in the store. I'm sad my friend didn't have the magical experience that I had at Mayas Palace. Needless to say we didn't find her a dress and I'm not sure if I'd recommend...
Read moreIt was absolutely amazing they helped me get the dress I wanted because the lady that does the alterations is a god send!! Edit: just picked up the dress again I'd like to reaffirm if it wasn't for Reem the alterations lady I never would have purchased anything from the store. Now my issue when picking up the dress. We had agreed the price being for the alterations and everything was 420 they tried to charge 538 plus and that was after the last fitting it was supposed to have included the fabric and the work. They were amazing enough to drop it down to 463 n some because I legit didnt have the funds but I was so upset about the whole situation that I walked out and left my card and let my mom handle the whole thing. Now here's my issue. Margarita was incredibly rude to my mother which was nothing new as she was rude to me during the fitting process in the first place when I fell in love with an elegant but plain satin dress. She kept trying to pressure me into these gawdy Ill fitting dresses that I didn't like but could better afford the entire time. When I went back for the fitting after paying the dress off she made fun of me for the shoes I liked being for old ladies not for younger women when I'm 30 like c'mon. I thought they were elegant but ultimately ended up not purchasing them because of her comments and the in addition after my mom paid the difference from what I had to what it costed margarita very rudely asked why my mom wasn't happy for me. My mom stated she was happy for me but not in general and then margarita kept pushing and pushing as to why. My mom had said I would tell you but you probably wouldn't care margarita said yeah your probably right but can tell me anyways as to where my mom let them know my aunt is dying in the hospital of covid right now because she is. Then she had the audaciousness to say afterwards well here's the hand sanitizer you asked for but it probably wont help you anyways. I'm right now waiting for a call back from the owner Suzy. Hopefully no one else has to experience what I did or my mother but I also was so upset that I never tried the dress on to even see if it fit. Will update Friday. Update it fit n looks amazing...
Read moreTerribly disappointed! My daughter had a truly magical wedding in Paradise Valley. I spent over 1,200 on a mother of the bride dress with a total of over $2500 in other items. The dress was supposed to be slightly altered. I called and requested that the gown be shipped to my home state in Indiana after alterations were complete. The dress was sent to my home and no alterations were completed. I returned the dress and once again requested that alterations be made after speaking with the owner . I was confident the alterations would be complete . it was mailed for the second time back to my home and the alterations were still not complete. The cost of my gown included the alterations. I had to hire a seamstress in my home state to make the minor shoulder alterations. This professional seamstress showed me that the gown had been very worn and she brought to my attention that the inside lining was shredded at the seems inside the gown in multiple areas. I called the store and was connected to a voicemail. The owner who is the one that helped me with a gown never returned my call after leaving two voice messages as well as messages at the store. I did not have time to pick out another gown. I wore it not feeling good that I had paid more than $1200 for a used gown where the lining was sheared. I felt rather dirty in another womanâs gown. The owner did absolutely nothing including not returning my calls.
My daughter has now since moved to Tucson and my husband and I will be planning retiring there as well. With a family of medical professionals we are sure to make many friends in the area. I will make sure that those in the community know of my experience in preparation for my daughterâs...
