Today I attended my fourth class at session yoga. The quality of the class was excellent, As for the first three. However, I will most likely never returned. Today I was in a packed room next to somebody who coughed a wet cough and was clearly still getting over being sick. The whole class I was tense and uncertain if I should leave. I cannot afford to get sick because of someone else being very inconsiderate and coming to class with a cough. Unfortunately, I have the kind of mind that counts, and this person cost at least 30 or 40 times during the class. not only is the noise disruptive, but even more of a Concern is whether or not the wet and Biscus cough residue is contagious. Since I am less than 3 feet Away, I am not foolish enough to think that I did not inhale any of the droplets. The entire class I was tense and could not get my mind off when would be the next cough, and whether or not I should leave or stay and if I chose to stay, would I get sick. I just can't believe someone would come to class and think it's OK to cough. The person tried to subdue the cough and so it wasn't that loud, but I couldn't ignore the hacking quality to it and the fact that every time I started to relax and get into the mindset of hot yoga, I would be interrupted with another cough and the thoughts that I explained above. After the class, I did approach the teacher and mentioned that I was concerned about the coughing. I told her that I was concerned about getting sick and that I really hoped I wouldn't get sick. She said absolutely nothing to me and just smiled and nodded her head. I started to leave, so I turned around and realized I had dropped one of my socks. So unbeknownst to her and her friend who had earlier checked me in, they were making faces behind my back and when I suddenly turned around, they were busted. They both looked very embarrassed because they had Immature grins on their faces. I chose not to say anything to them, but they know that what they did was extremely unprofessional. I was in no way mean or rude when I mentioned the coughing. I know that I am totally in the right and some sort of response acknowledging my concern would have been appropriate. I am probably one of the most nicest tolerant people there are in public settings, but I will not keep quiet when my health is at Risk because someone is so inconsiderate that they need to come to yoga class with a...
Read moreWe booked a class yesterday at the central location for the first time and signed up online and paid for it. Unfortunately we had quite a bad experience and will for sure not come back. First of all the instructor wasn’t very friendly or welcoming… we stood quite a while at the check in desk waiting for her to acknowledge us while she was looking into the computer.Secondly they packed over 34 people in this fairly small room. More and more people came in and we had to move our mats so close together we were actually touching the next person. If you have done yoga you know you need a bit of personal space and we surely didn’t appreciate feeling our neighbors sweat on us. You would think they would use the sign up system to close the class when it’s at capacity. We couldnt even do all the poses or moves because of lack of space which was not allowing us to get the full benefit of the 1 hour class since we were trying not to bump into the neighbor. All in all don’t recommend this studio at all. Very...
Read moreAs a student and yogi who has grown my practice at Session for 3 years, this studio is so incredibly special to me. It's very rare for a studio to consistently provide powerful and intense classes that challenges every yogi in the room, regardless of their ability. Every instructor gives their own unique spin to the very structured flow, but every time I leave my mat it feels like I've rediscovered my practice and I fall in love all over again. Chelsea and Kristin have built a studio and community on the foundation of the non-judgmental mind and that your practice is yours, there is no gain in comparing yourself to anyone else in the room. Not to mention they are incredibly generous to students and make it more than affordable for college kids on a budget to stay with their practice. Session Yoga is worth more than five stars and I'm so blessed to be a part of such a loving, beautiful and...
