Denny Chimes is a 115-foot tall campanile tower on the south side of The Quad at the University of Alabama, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The tower was named in honor of George H. Denny, who served as university president from 1912 to 1936 and then again from 1941 through 1942. It is equipped with a 25-bell carillon.

Always a great place to meet up with friends, right at the front/middle of the Quad, in front of yhe UA Main Library. Be sure to walk around the Chimes and look at all the foot and and hand prints, which are of the football team captains each year. The designated permanent captains each year have a ceremony in the Spring, whereby they place their foot and hand in the wet cement. It’s a great tradition at...
