Truly the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant. If I were able to give this abominable "restaurant" less than 1 star, I would. We arrived before 5:00 pm on a Sunday and did not leave until after 7:00 pm. During this time my table and I witnessed multiple groups arrive after us and leave before we had even received our entrees. When we did finally get our food, it was brought to us sporadically with some members of our group being given their main dish before their appetizers and others being served over an hour apart. We waited well over an hour for a cup of soup.
Swen is also extremely non-allergen friendly. One of the members of our group has a severe food allergy and asked the waiter to check on a few items and he came back saying he was "pretty sure" they were fine. We then explained her throat could close which then led our waiter to saying he "could probably go ask the chef". They also talked loudly about the individuals allergy where most of the restaurant could hear it and acted as if a customer having a food allergy was inconvenient and a hassle for them. Although allergies can be inconvenient, it is a restaurants job to cater to the customers health needs or at the least be able to inform them on which foods could be detrimental to their health. And to make a customer feel shameful for being cautious is immensely disrespectful. Thankfully we double checked on all of the items but if we had not forced them to check again she could have gone into anaphylaxis due to the staffs inattention.
After two hours of waiting, our waiter asked if we would just prefer our meals to go with which we agreed. After this, we waited another twenty minutes for our food only to discover once we returned home that half of our order was missing. My group and I were completely dismayed at this treatment and will absolutely never be returning and would advise any other consumer who values their time, money, or health to...
Read moreNever in my life have I experienced such disrespect from an employee. I called in a pickup order and came into to get it. When I walked in I told her my name and she said “What was in the order?” I began to tell her my order but couldn’t remember the last item because it was not for myself. She did a hand gesture at me insinuating for me to tell her the last item, I said that I couldn’t remember. She huffed and puffed and grabbed our order (mind you there was only one other couple in there and they had no other orders sitting on the counter). She handed us our food and told us the total. I was paying with apple pay and after a second she said “So are you going to pay with tap or a card or what?” After I said card, she said “That’s why I put it right there.” in the rudest tone I have ever heard (she did not move the card reader towards me and had just typed it in front of her). I said “Okay well you could have said that.” Once I paid, I looked at my sister and whispered “She was rude” as we left. The girl proceeded to scream at me “What did you say, I couldn’t hear you.” To which I responded and said “You were really rude.” She then ended the conversation with “WHOS GONNA CLOCK ME??” as in who there would ever say anything to her? I have never witnessed such entitlement and hatefulness. They need to do...
Read moreEven though the food at this location is better than the Northport location, and the Japanese lady who works here is excellent, I don’t think I will be coming back here. I have had multiple incidents where they have overcharged me or charged me for the wrong food, and every time they act like they did nothing wrong and don’t really want to give you a refund. After much arguing finally I got the incidents resolved, but the most recent interaction I had has left me thinking that I can no longer support this business. The students who work here don’t know anything and typically have an attitude of “I don’t care” in any interaction. They need to train their workers better on how to show customer service and how to interact the people. How they take payment is also very unorganized which is why I think refunds can be such a pain here.
Update:one of the friends that ate with me just told me when they got the extra to-go order they bought while we dined in was missing rice—which the menu specifically says it...
