Meadowbrook Shopping Center — Attraction in Tuscaloosa

Ate at Jason's deli. If I had looked at the drink machines and the salad bar before hand, I would have walked out. Drink machine had pink mold all inside both ice dispensers. Dark mold all behind the soda dispensers. The overflow tray was mold and goo covered and there was someone cleaning it when I walked up! Filthy. I asked the collared shirt worker to please get me some ice for our glasses from the back machine as the mold was everywhere. She never looked at the machine she was standing next too! Took my glasses and came back with 4 cubes of ice in each glass! The salad bar had black goo in all the crevices. There was a women wiping everything down while I was looking. When I came back with the manager, who was up front at cashier station trying on a Santa beard with three staff members who were not working, but who were openly drinking and eating well displayed Chik FIL a meals, he never made a comment or even looked me in the face as I showed the STILL FILTHY and totally unchanged in appearance drink station and salad bar. Floors and tables all filthy. 8 in house customers. 4 staff members standing around! What has happened to Jason's. One of my favorite, healthy places to eat in Tuscaloosa! Manager acted totally unconcerned! I was kind and even tempered, offering advice on food safety and health board policy and inspections. Soooo many violations. I know inspections are down for lack of personal, but no excuse! I am a former restaurant owner. No excuse for filth! NEVER...

My mother and I visited 2nd & Charles. We loved the bookstore and found some good books to purchase. I even found a book at a discount that I have been looking for for several years. A nice surprise right at the first book table as you enter the store. They have a big area on one side of the store that is the children's section. That is good to see. I love to encourage children to read. They have record albums, posters, mugs, spiritual books and items, book markers, book lights, and many gift items. A very nice store.
