We recently drove to Tuscaloosa, about an hour and a half from our home, for doctor’s appointments, bringing along our two-year-old grandson. Knowing that the appointments would be long for him, we made sure to stop at Monnish Park afterward, which we spotted from the road.
Upon arrival, we found the park to be well-maintained and clean. The play equipment was in excellent condition, and the restrooms were not only clean but also smelled fresh. It was great to see several small groups enjoying the park, making it feel family and dog-friendly. Our grandson had an absolute blast exploring the playground, running around, and playing, which wore him out completely—he ended up sleeping most of the way home!

Read moreI like that this park has lots of trees, which makes it very shady, extra nice in the summer! The walking path is kind of short, but long enough if you're going there to get your steps in. There are exercise stations along the path where you can stop and switch from cardio to whatever that station is offering. For example, I think there's a rowing type machine and pull up bars.
I'm glad that this park exists, but I'm not a fan of the location being on the corner of a busy intersection. I feel kind of exposed here. Also, when I go in the mornings there are sometimes people sleeping in the park which makes me a little uncomfortable. I prefer the park just down the road at Queen City Ave...
