We had a wonderful stay at Wood Manor Guest House last week. Having lived in Tuscaloosa for much of our lives, we are very familiar with Wood Manor and the home that is now called Wood Manor Guest House. The restoration and renovation to make this house into a warm and inviting place to stay is a tribute to the detail and love that Al and Brenda have put into transforming this house.
The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed. The mid-century style used to decorate and furnish the rooms is perfect for this home. The new bathrooms add so much to the beauty and function of each room. We could not get over the renovation of the kitchen area. Al and Brenda did a wonderful job in making the kitchen a warm and functional place. Of course, the massive den and dining area, also decorated in mid-century style, are such great places to gather.
Al and Brenda were such friendly and accommodating hosts. We enjoyed getting to know them and spending time talking about the history of the house. And we fell in love with their dog, LaiLai.
We look forward to our next visit to Tuscaloosa and staying at the Wood Manor...

You don’t want to look at the mattress trust me NO mattress cover. I was told I was talking to the room service manager when I called to complain, I really think his vocabulary only had a hand full of words and a couple of grunts if this is who they hired for this position, the hotel manager should be fired immediately. Room service to me is the most important part of a stay. I realize it’s not a 5 star, but the least they could do is get nice linens and do a good job cleaning. Attention to detail is not their...
Read moreWe are a family of 5 driving through the countryside of the beautiful USA. We stumbled across this beautiful place. Highly recommend for a nice peaceful stay with lots of accommodations and the owners are so friendly. The Queens Garden room fit us all perfectly and the shower was my favorite! Just so pretty. The kitchen had coffee and tea and a perfect little breakfast bar for the kiddos. With fruit and oatmeal and yogurt and some pastries. We were only in the area for one night but did explore the University and ate at Ave Pub. Good burger and i enjoyed a salad and a cocktail. College town at its finest. Thank you Wood Manor for the...
