I've ordered online several times and was very excited to bring my upcoming freshman brother to the shop, which carries many items we would have been interested in purchasing. I almost purchased groomsman shirts from them last fall and am so relieved I didn't. I will not so much as order online ever again. I'm in my 30s and was well dressed aside from a necessary Columbia rain jacket and was joined by my mother and younger brother. When you walk in, it feels like an episode of Hoarders. Everything is everywhere. Stacks. Piles. Overstuffed racks. No sense of organization. It feels like an overstocked Goodwill with name brand stickers strewn about. Prices may or may not be on items. Seeing how poorly $80+ shirts are kept in the store is a definite turnoff. Even less settling however, was being followed by the staff as if I was going to stuff their items in my small Kate Spade crossbody bag. Should the three of us separate in the tiny shop, there'd be a person on each of us at the snap of a finger--and this is after I found a staff member's cell phone in a pile of clothes and turned it in to them. As we perused, I heard them complaining "OH. THAT is why they're here. Orientation." That's when I rounded up the crew and we visited different stores with organization, fantastic selections, and genuinely kind staff. Save yourself frustration, a headache, and money....
Read moreI went to this store over many years after graduating from Alabama buying $1000's worth of merchandise in the past. This past year I picked a Peter Millar Windbreaker that Charles Spurlin the owner personally said he would get monogrammed for me, I paid for the windbreaker and the monogram and left expecting to pick up in a week. I live out of town and made a special trip back to pick up the next week. On arrival Charles notified me that the logo was printed upside down (duh!) and that he would get another one and have it done with either the retro Alabama logo or get a new windbreaker. I returned for the third time and he told me it wasn't done and that he would refund my purchase price. Well Charles you cost me three private trips to your store, endless aggravation of incompetence and not receiving the windbreaker that I chose and paid for. Yes, there is a ton of inventory but that's because they have 100 different options from which to choose - just when picking out a button up shirt. It's the same for slacks or a suit, they have every option you can imagine or have seen online. They don't have " just blue and white" button downs, they have every possible style/color/pattern which is awesome. It's almost hard to make a decision but they help you narrow it down to what you really like. They greet you when you walk in and help you find what you want and they don't show you something you may not like. And then they make sure it fits. Imagine having someone show you around, help you find just what you like, and then making sure it fits you just right. It's one of the finer things...
