I chose this jeweler to size down down and solder together my wedding bridal ring set, based on their price and their statement to me that the work could be completed in a week. This was a COSTLY mistake! My ring set is still less than a year old, was purchased new (not from Tom's), and flawless. When I returned to pick up my rings, I closely inspected the work, noticed a missing diamond, and immediately reported it to the jeweler. I anticipated having to leave my ring set for perhaps another week. The woman working the counter said, "it (diamond) probably fell out when he soldered the rings together." They said that the jeweler would replace the small diamond as a 'courtesy free' repair if I was willing to wait for the few minutes that he would take to complete the repair. True to his word, the jeweler replaced my diamond in less than 15 minutes. In less than two weeks, the unthinkable happened. One morning, I awakened only to discover that the same diamond the jeweler replaced was missing. By the time I arrived at the jeweler, the store had closed early (noon) due to the holiday, and a 2nd small diamond was now missing!!! When I was able to see the jeweler, he assessed my rings. He said that he replaced my stone the last time as a 'courtesy' for 'free'. He said that it would cost me $75 for each diamond he replaced. I no longer had confidence in the professional integrity of this business. Another jeweler assessed my ring set (I never told her about my ordeal with the previous jeweler). Two weeks later, after having broken prongs repaired, two small diamonds replaced, and having to pay $294 for the repairs, I now have my rings back, as beautiful as ever. She did an awesome job repairing the damage to my rings! What initially seemed like a good deal to have my ring set sized and soldered WAS NOT a deal, but it turned out to be a costly ordeal. Based on my experience with Tom's, I would not recommend this...
Read moreI was visiting from out of town and damaged the clasp of a necklace that I never take off... checked out some reviews online and took a chance. I phoned first, as I was hoping to have it fixed as I waited if possible. A very nice lady said for me to come right in. When I arrived, I barely had it off my neck for 2 minutes and the gentelman working behind the counter had it fixed and back around my neck!! Now, Im not sure if on the spot service is the norm but they were amazingly kind and so very professional!! I would absolutely recommend Toms Jewelry Repair for any work you need done or buying...
Read moreI took in a beautiful new acquired tubogas bracelet that needed 2 links repaired and soldered back in place. Picked it up today and it's a complete mess. Extremely sloppy work. The links are in 1 clump and part of the inside of the bracelet is still visible. The Italian Hallmark has been partially removed and that wasn't even part of the original damage. Finally, the work isn't polished smooth so there's scratchy areas on my wrist where there weren't before. I'd rather have a jeweler tell me they can't do the work than have them do this.
Also, just noticed one of the pave diamonds is...
