This is usually my go-to movie theatre, but today I had an experience that just left me overall unsatisfied and unhappy. I placed an order with a cashier for some impossible nuggets, and I was told to wait by the counter where food is served as it would be ready in 10-15 minutes. Before heading over to the counter, I noticed another friend at the theater, and stopped to talk to her for 2-3 minutes directly in front of the food stand, where my cashier could easily have spotted me. That was no problem, so afterward, my friends and I walk over to that counter and wait there for approximately 15-20 minutes. Within the first few minutes, another man behind the counter comes up to me and asks me what I was waiting on, and I said some impossible nuggets, to which he nodded and moved on. As we reach the 20 minute mark, I call over a woman behind the stand and ask her to check on my food. I have several other friends that can also attest to her response: she told me that my card declined and that, since I simply walked away and never came back, they just canceled my order. I asked her why nobody felt it necessary to tell me that my order was canceled when I was standing by the counter for 20 minutes, but she simply kept on repeating that I walked away and my card didn't go through so they canceled my order. At this point, we were around 10 minutes late to our movie, so I just let it slide, said whatever, and went into my movie. But overall, my AMC experience was thoroughly ruined by this employee's disgraceful manner in handling this situation overall. While I am upset by this interaction, I still acknowledge that this theater, as a whole, is one of the best ones in the area. I just highly advise you to ask for a receipt from your cashier with each of your orders to avoid this...
Read moreI prefer AMC theaters over Edward's, Regal, Cinemark, etc. I live in HB and used to drive to the AMC in Fullerton weekly to catch movies for years for their dine in service and premium reclining seats. However they stopped having security around at night and quite frankly I felt unsafe as a female coming out of movies at 1am and constantly be approached by panhandlers. Caught a movie one night in Tustin because the time suited my schedule better and I was so happy to have given the District AMC another try after not going there for many years.
The AMC at the District in Tustin has premium reclining seats in all their theaters (Dolby and Prime theater seats recline more like a zero gravity chair and don't come with the heated seat warmers).
The District AMC is much closer to me than the Fullerton location. I miss not having Dine-In Service, but the constant security at the District helps me feel much safer and I wouldn't trade that for anything. I quit going to the Fullerton location over a year ago and the District AMC is my preferred movie theater now. Since it's much closer I catch more movies now each week. I come here 2-3 times a week for late showings and and have never encountered any panhandlers that follow me to my car and make me scared for my life and those of others with me like I felt at Fullerton on many stressful occasions.
I'm completely spoiled now and can't go to a movie theater if they don't offer comfortable premium seats. I caught an IMAX movie at the Block several months ago and I've vowed to never go through that again. It's strange having to sit in the old fashioned movie theater seats after being ruined for life by premium...
Read morecalled AMC Theatres and AMC Tustin 14 because I bought Pitch Perfect 3 tickets last Tuesday. I got an email confirmation and text message on Tuesday. Today, I did a second check and for some reason my tickets got switched from Pitch Perfect 3 to Downsizing? There is no way, logistically, that I could have switched the tickets. I called the customer service line and got transferred to a supervisor. Basically, they told me it is a known website glitch and there is nothing they can do for me. They then followed it up by pointing out on the website that you use the website at your own risk. I asked for a full refund and to be done with AMC today and go back to Regal and they informed me that because I used gift cards for a portion of the payment that they would have to submit a request , etc. More calls, emails etc. More of my time. I spoke to a supervisor who would not give me his extension or his supervisor's name or even the name of the department he worked in; but informed me that someone would be contacting me... again, more calls and more of my time. I had to already spend an hour on the phone. When all said and done, nothing got resolved. I hope that phone call got recorded. I was told that I should have held onto my gift cards. He really spoke to me as if it was my fault for using the AMC website and that I should have gone to buy the tickets at the theater. Okay, I am ranting now and rarely do this. I wonder if a supervisor will end up calling me? With the customer service and website issues I am surprised that AMC is in business. Staying with Regal from now on. What happened to...
