For the longest time I always associated Red Robin with Round Table Pizza. Red Robin-Round Robin-Round Table. Most of this was because the nearest location was 20+ miles from me and ate there so rarely. I always see the commercials and feel out of the loop on the RR culture with the whole "yum" hum but frankly either ignored or didn't see that for years the way they make us feel we all should. Initially I thought the chain to be somewhat like "chilli's" with their ribs association I too figured the burgers here would be amazing, but as we all know Chilli's ribs are not the business and Red Robin burgers just can't compete with the 2011 Burger revolution. It's as if the whole world became burger connoisseurs overnight. No longer will mediocre ingredients be acceptable as by now most everyone has had an excellent burger that blew away years and even decades of old cooking thinking. That may seem harsh, but when you look at the rest of the menu here it's actually quite good. For a chain restaurant they have very consistent and good sides, entrees and appetizers, obviously there is no executive chef making everything from scratch, and they do manage to step away from the whole "waiting" cloak as they are somewhat kid friendly, yet they are able to keep the rif raf boozers apart from any innocent bystanders by sheer architecture and layout unlike other places. It's a large location that's clean and new. Service is usually impeccable at all locations and my first few times here they lived up to the billet, but my last experience was sub par. Just slow, I mean I'll give them that they get packed because The District can be a pile sometimes and parking can suck a bit, but over 2 hours during HH I waited half the time for drinks and ended up moving to Dubliner and then to sushi for dinner. I actually would have loved to stay and eat there and the reason we left Dubliner was it was too bar foodish. If your thinking of eating and a Chilli's or Applebee's, try Red Robin first. If your looking for a good burger, look elsewhere because the flavor profiles are great here, but it's a new era and burgers and food in general. Red Robin is to burgers what Shock Top is to beer, better than domestic coors, but not craft enough to hang...
Read moreI had a disappointing experience at the Tustin Red Robin. My friends and I were looking to celebrate 4 birthdays together. I highly recommended Tustin RR because I had a wonderful experience at this location back in 2019 celebrating my husband's birthday with friends. Our party had 14 people and we were seated in the patio. The hostess was friendly and everything started off nicely and looked promising. However, after we received our food, our server did not come by for long periods of time and we were waiting for refills on drinks and fries. We also had to ask other passing waiters for requests and felt neglected. But more surprisingly, throughout our time at RR, our server did the following things which I thought were a bit unprofessional: 1) Express that she felt overwhelmed at the size of our party, 2) Told us the staff was skeptical if we really had 4 birthdays (we received 4 complimentary sundaes, thanks to the manager) and 3) As I was coming back from the bathroom, I overheard our server talking about our table to another co-worker. REALLY? If she wanted to vent, then at least please wait until we leave the restaurant! I had actually really appreciated the server's help/time in accommodating us to pay with various digital giftcards (via paypal promo) but once I heard her complain about it to her co-worker I just felt really disappointed. I did not want to make a big deal out of the situation because I did not want to ruin the mood for the 4 friends celebrating their bdays. But we left not feeling very happy with our experience at RR. I used to love RR but I am definitely not going back ever nor recommending it for group...
Read moreRed Robin Gourmet Burger and Brewery in Tustin is a place where happiness is served on a platter, alongside endless fries and ranch that kept everyone in our group grinning like Cheshire cats. And let me tell you, our server was the MVP of our dining experience. She was so friendly and awesome that I wanted to request her for my everyday life. Unfortunately, my aging brain decided to play hide-and-seek with her name. Sorry, awesome server, you deserve better!
Oh, the burgers! They were like a love story between my taste buds and my stomach, but unfortunately, my heartburn decided to crash the party. Note to self: next time, bring some antacids for backup. Nonetheless, the location and food were amazing, so I'm willing to forgive my rebellious digestive system.
The burgers themselves were decent, with fresh tomatoes and lettuce that added a touch of garden-fresh deliciousness. But the real star of the show was the Peach Berry Freckled Lemonade. It was like a fruity symphony dancing on my tongue. The only disappointment was their spiked lemonade. I mean, come on, if you're going to spike it, make sure it packs a punch! It felt more like I was drinking a lemonade-flavored tease. Where's the fun in that? Red Robin in Tustin is a place where you can indulge in mouthwatering burgers, make friends with endless fries, and nurse a heartburn while you laugh it off. Just don't get your hopes up too high for their spiked lemonade. But hey, who needs alcohol anyway when you're surrounded by good company and great food? So go ahead and treat yourself, because life's too short to worry about heartburn... until it hits you like a ton of...
