Must Read!!!! I went here on the 12/08/24. It was my cousin birthday so this is what he wanted to do, so I looked up a few places but this one caught my attention so we came here all the way from queens. Got here lots of parking space, very huge an clean. We scan an sign the waiver then went up to did our purchase we were in line an then a party came after us we were waiting 10 mins before we got called up when it was our turn the counter staff call a group behind us first so I said excuse me we were here first, before I got an answer another staff called us so I dropped it. Went ahead now she ask a few questions we answer. Then she proceeded to ask are any of you licensed I said my brother is she said okay, she ask to be excused, came back proceeded to ask again are any of you licensed I said yes my brother is she said are you 3 licensed I said no, she said then you can’t go ahead so I said but I don’t understand she said you have to have a license before you can make a purchase or go ahead I said okay I ask my brother I said do you wanna go ahead we will wait for you he said no. So I ask her I said I didn’t know you had to be licensed to came an shoot she said yes everyone needs to have a license, I said all these customers here have a g** license she said no so I said how can they shoot she said they came an sign up purchase an went ahead I said so why we need to be licensed she said everybody needs an ID I said as in a driver license she said yes we all look at each other disappointed an dumb like all this time you asking for a drivers license you could of said so, you had us thinking an making it difficult stating you need a license yes but what kind of license. I said okay for future wise an new customers please make it clear what license you are asking for she looked at me rolled her eyes an continue with a unwelcoming attitude. So we choose our choice it was 4 of us so we said give us 5 box bullets she said are you sure that’s too much, I said no it’s 4 of us an we wanna have enough due to it’s a celebration we wanna have fun an make sure everyone gets enough to shoot. She kept insisting no it’s too much while other customers were buying 10-15 box’s my brother said can you make it even an gives us 6 box’s she still kept denying it an didnt give it to us. Any way time to pay it was $$$$ but whatever we came to have fun. So I said just to be sure I saw its veteran own? She said yes I said great that’s another reason we came, to support, she said cash or card I said card, so I said you guys give or offer veteran discount. She said no isn’t it affordable already I said money isn’t the issue it’s just that my brother is an active veteran like why not ask? She said okay, in a joking way I said I have to meet the owner an ask him what’s going on as it’s been veteran own. She’s proceeded to say yeah good luck with that like he cares. My cousin said just pay an let’s go. So we went ahead now to the room where we had our instructor his name was Deon, he made the counter experience forgetting his attitude, service an professionalism was on point he spoke very clear an understanding he showed us how to use everything an was very easy to speak with also all the instructor that was in the room was very respectful, professional and welcoming they spoke to everyone in there made jokes an did an amazing job. The place is worth coming to, for me it was affordable and very clean. Just the girl at the counter made it very difficult. I forget to ask her name. But I will be visiting again after the holidays due to some other friends wants to come. An I I like to visit again to see if I receive the same treatment or better. then I leave a second...

I recently visited RTSP Union location on RT 22 and unfortunately, my experience was terrible. From the moment I stepped in, it was evident that customer service was not a priority here.

The staff seemed disinterested and indifferent, displaying a lack of attentiveness to customer needs. Despite attempting to seek assistance, I was met with unprofessionalism and rudeness. It felt as though my presence inconvenienced them rather than being valued as a customer. After I spent over $2K and they drop the ball by failing to communicate inventory constraints at hand which had me fly in form the west coast to the store for nothing. ($600 flight). Hamid was the rep I worked with I spoke to him on the phone the week of. Prior to coming I shared with him my situation via phone the call with him felt like he was rushing to get off the phone instead of looking into the sales process and answering questions asked about the compliance work that was needed. He was rude and unprofessional. I was left on a 25min hold until I hung up and called the Randolph location in which they confirmed the specifics of my compliance work and verified that I would be able to fly in and everything would be done same day. Between the Randolph & Union location I called 6 times between Monday -Thursday (3 Union 3 Randolph location) to confirm if everything was going to be ready when I flew in to NJ on Friday and they assured me that yes nothing was needed apart from Mag & stock pin which could be done same day. I expressed to them I would be in town for 1 day and wanted to verify that everything would be good to go and they stated that it would be.

I arrive and hamid was the one assisting me who I previously spoke to on the phone early in the week. He opened the order for the first time the morning I flew in and realized that they did not have a part they needed for the compliance work. I tried to be as flexible as possible and help resolve this by exploring potential options I asked if they could partner with their Randolph location to try to assist resolving this matter because I would be flying out the next day. I asked to speak to the manager and Hamid stated he was the manager. He then asked if I wanted to speak to the owner in which I stated yes I observed hamid brief the owner on the matter.

To exacerbate matters, the owners response when he approached me was unwelcoming, defensive, aggressive, unprofessional, dismissive and unhelpful. Instead of trying to problem solve a customers needs there was a blatant disregard for resolving customer concerns, further highlighting the lack of professionalism and dedication to customer satisfaction. RTSP management drop the ball on this encounter and took no ownership of this and after getting an opportunity to engage the owner I see where the customer service experience stems from. I requested a refund and will look to conduct business at a more customer centric establishment that values their customers.

Overall, my experience at RTSP Union location was deeply disappointing. The lack of customer service coupled with lack of accountability and ownership left me feeling undervalued and dissatisfied. I sincerely hope that the management takes heed of these concerns and implements measures to improve the overall customer experience. I encourage all potential customers to make your own determination in just sharing my experience from a...

It's a special kind of place you can go and find retail employees who are genuinely passionate about what they're doing. That's RTSP. The retail sales folks are extremely helpful and passionately interested in their craft; they aren't just there to sell, they're there because they enjoy shooting and geek out on firearms. A true pleasure to interact with Zee, Tom, and everyone else there.

The range desk clerks are equally helpful and cheerful. They must be putting something in the water at RTSP, because everyone always seems overjoyed to be working there. They're always excited to help new folks, explain their policies, joke around with you, etc. Nobody ever seems sleepy or overworked.

And ditto to the RSOs (range security officers). There are some ranges where RSOs can really get off on their power, and RTSP is thankfully not one of them. RSOs are so friendly and helpful; they will banter with you, talk sports, or whatever else, and they're always incredibly helpful when you have a question on shooting, maintaining firearms, or anything else.

I grew up shoots small caliber long guns (.22s and .410s), but had never handled a handgun before in my life. I went into the shop to talk with the retail guys and they were helpful on what I needed to do to to acquire my FID and permit to purchase a firearm in the state of NJ. In addition to that, they didn't seem to mind my dumb questions (I actually literally, word-for-word, asked "what does this button do?" while pointing at the slide lock).

After fumbling around I realized I needed to take a basic introduction to handguns course before I would be confident enough to handle live ammo with a handgun. Thankfully, RTSP provided that, too. I attended the Wednesday night class with 3 other gentlemen as ignorant as I, taught by Tom V, who was incredible. He was clear, concise, and didn't care that we had no idea what we were doing.

I'm so glad I found RTSP. What a wonderful range, full of kind and helpful people. I'm now a member here and shoot once per week, and I'd give them my highest recommendation to anyone looking to get into shooting, home defense, hunting, etc....
