My recent visit to a nail salon culminated in what can only be described as the most disappointing and concerning experience I have ever encountered in such an establishment. The technician assigned to me appeared to be in a hurried state throughout the service, which significantly compromised the quality of care. Particularly distressing was an incident during the hot stone pedicure when a tool was accidentally dropped. Instead of adhering to proper sanitization protocols, the technician opted to merely rinse the tool in the footbath I was using, proposing to reuse it immediately after. Concerned about the risk of infection, I firmly requested to skip the use of the tool and proceed to the next step of the service.
Moreover, the gel manicure I received was exceedingly uncomfortable, far from the professional standard one might expect. The aftermath saw me removing excess paint from my fingertips long after leaving the salon, a testament to the sloppy application. Compounding my dissatisfaction was the fact that the color applied to my nails did not match my selection, failing to darken as I had been assured by the technician. The situation escalated when, instead of carefully sanding my nails, the technician inadvertently damaged my skin multiple times, resulting in a painful injury. The technician's attempt to attribute this mishap to my actions only added insult to injury.
In light of these grave concerns regarding hygiene and professional standards, I am compelled to report this establishment to the Ohio Department of Health and the Board of Cosmetology. Throughout my visit, I did not observe any of the technicians engaging in basic handwashing or sanitization practices, an observation that raises serious public health concerns.
This experience was a stark deviation from what should have been a relaxing and rejuvenating visit to a nail salon. It is with deep disappointment that I strongly advise against patronizing this establishment. For those seeking nail services in Columbus, there are numerous reputable alternatives that prioritize client safety and satisfaction.
I intend to reach out to the Better Business Bureau to highlight the pressing need for a public advisory regarding this salon. The sole redeeming aspect of my visit was the commendable service provided by the gentleman responsible for preparing beverages, a small consolation in an otherwise regrettable experience.
Should the owner or management of this salon wish to address these concerns directly, I encourage them to respond to this review. It is my hope that by bringing these issues to light, steps can be taken to ensure no other customer endures a...
Read moreTL;DR gel nails last a really long time, attention to detail is lacking, generally don't feel welcome
I've been three times now and I really wanted to love my experience but each time was mediocre. The first was a bachelorette weekend where appointments were made ahead of time. Despite this we were all seated in different areas and each of us had a very different experience. I generally didn't feel welcome. That being said my nails lasted 3+ weeks so I came back. The second time when replacing the gel, the tech had me place my hand in a bowl but didn't specify that is was acetone so the whole hand went in... I really didn't need that level of chemical exposure... She did a good job with the art I asked for and again the nails lasted. This last time I went for my wedding. There must have been a miscommunication because I didn't receive the full manicure I was expecting. I told her these were for my wedding hoping for more care to detail. Two nails needed to be repaired and she started shaping them before I stopped her to say I wanted almonds. They were too short at this point so I had mismatched nails... The thumb wasn't curved well and looks unnatural. She also nicked me with the dremel (no big, it happens) but never bothered to apologize and then put some mystery fluid on my cut. Would have loved to know what that was... The art was once again good and thankfully my left hand was more put together than my right. Unfortunately, based on these experiences, I think I'm going to need to find...
Read morethey keep deleting the details but I’ll just keep posting the awful experience with Sinan pen. ALSO, their response is a complete lie bc there was 0 discussion about her ethnicity. She takes me to a smaller room in the far back right corner with 2 other techs and guest. Everything is normal, I’m watching Reba laughing and making small talk with her. I ask her if she watches it, she says no she only watches “Chinese drama” and explains how they fight with swords and have powers. Anyway, we talked plenty in English and she says there’s subtitles and I say “oh good I need to learn more languages”. She then says “ the only word I have learned in English is N-word!” But again says the entire word with the hard R And laughs and my mouth drops open and I’m like surely I heard you wrong and she just kept saying it and kept laughing and said she doesn’t know what it means.. her coworker could tell things were already bad and he said “ you’re misunderstanding her, she’s just saying she’s Cambodian, not Chinese” which was not a sentence or topic !? Anyways, I go silent, I’m visibly shaking and sniffling. She tells me she likes my makeup and that she wants to learn how to do it on YouTube? I’m full on no longer engaging feeling so gaslight like what just happened. She then doubles down and tells me she hopes I wasn’t offended by her using the N WORD but full on says it...
