Made a same day appointment I have not had my hair professionally washed or styled in years I’m in the first trimester of pregnancy and just wanted to have someone take care of me.as I don’t have the energy to do it for myself right now .I walked in was greeted so nicely and didn’t have to wait long for my stylist . I want to say I am a biracial woman with THICK curly hair. I did make her aware that I hadn’t paid for a service in years. She was so sweet and seemed very confident she could do my hair. That sadly wasn’t the case. I could tell she didnt know what she was doing fairly early on. And I started to contemplate my options. My hair again is thick so it takes time and effort to blow dry . When she was finished drying my hair was a puff ball of mess and my roots were soaked. I had to ask her to please dry the roots and she gladly did. I don’t like confrontation so I pretty much chalked up the fact that I wasted my money would cry on the 50 mins ride home & would still have to go home and fix my hair and knew I would never come back here .
But .. the reason I gave this a 5 start is because you literally have an angel that works there that had finished up her client and came over and had assessed the situation from 3 seats down! Ciara!!& I hope you know what a gem you have there she came over and introduced herself to me and said “hey I’m just going to help so and so “ I felt instantly relieved as she was very educated on what brush to use in my hair and what products she restarted my whole blow dry process all while teaching her co worker how to work with my textured hair!!! My original stylist ended up having another client and stepped away and Ciara and I got to talking and she told me “ if she can help it she will always step in as she doesn’t want anyone to leave the salon upset “ she assessed this situation again 3 chairs down while working on her own client this women I hope is very valued In this salon she blew the hell out of my hair and it was shiny and beautiful I’m on day 3 of humidity and being a mom of 5 and my hair just keeps looking better each day as she gave me tight curls and the are even more beautiful as they fall each day!!!! As a biracial woman it truly is so hard to just find a salon you can just up and walk into and have them know how to handle your hair but I’m telling you Ciara Ciara Ciara !!! This women will Get your hair flowy beautiful and shiny !!! I honestly only could leave here 20 dollars tip but she deserves way way way more then that for the pride she takes in her work and others! She changed the whole experience for me and again, still three days later I feel so...
Read moreI was so excited about this place! I went here to treat myself for my engagement party and get my hair washed and styled since I knew I would be taking a lot of pictures for my party. The hair wash was amazing, cannot say enough about that. But unfortunately the hair style was absolutely awful. I said I wanted the “southern” style, so very big volume and I wanted very big but tight voluminous curls. The stylist even suggested since I was there hours before my party that she would curl it and pin the whole thing up for me, which was also wonderful. She sprayed it really well before I left, I went home and had the hair pinned for about another hour, and I even hair sprayed it while at home before taking the pins out. I took the hair out and one side was completely flat and the other was barely loosely waved. After putting my jewelry and shoes on for the party (10 minutes max), my hair was completely straight with a few ends flipped. This was extremely disappointing for the price of 100$. Please note my hair is long and thick and usually curls very well! If I wand it myself the curls/waves will last for days if I don’t wash it or brush them out. So this was not about my hair. My mum also got her hair done at the same time by another stylist and her hair looked amazing the whole night at the party! Based on other reviews, it looks like this place is inconsistent and depends on who you get as your stylist. My stylist was very nice and sweet and professional. But paying for this hair and having it be so bad for my party when I really needed it to look good was so depressing...
Read moreUnfortunately I have been to drybars several times and never had a fantastic blowout but today solidifies that I'll never go back. I have a significant gift card so scheduled an apointment at 9:00, timed precisely prior to leaving for a travel wedding weekend. I mistakenly ran a few minutes behind, not anticipating school bus traffic. I received a call at 9:07 from the salon; I apologized and shared that I would be right in, i was finally there and at the light. They told me they have a 9 minute late cancellation policy. I pulled right into the first spot and walked in the door at 9:09 to see SEVERAL (I think 5) girls at the desk, ONE customer in a chair and NO ONE else in the salon. They asked my name (as if they didn't know - we just spoke 2 minutes prior)... they looked at the computer and said they couldn't take me because it was after the 9 minute period, now 9:10!!! I guess I could have been a walk in and one of these free stylists could have taken me if they wanted to work? Fortunately on my 20 minute drive back home I passed Stephen Szabo, who had someone available to take me. It took all of 30 minutes for a blowout and style that is far better than any I have gotten at drybar. I guess they don't want or need...
