This was the second time I've been to Bonefish. What a doozy it was. Reservation was made, we were seated promptly and the bread with dipping oil was pleasant. That's one star. Here is where the less than exemplary situation starts. We needed to ask for napkins, plates and diningware on multiple occasions, the service wasn't astounding by the waiter (empty water bottle left on the table after reaching over the entire table to fill one of our 1 cup glasses.
The lobster gnocchi was chewy and wasn't more than shredded knuckle meat. Fun! We sent it back, they apologized and, as a gesture of kindness, were presented with lobster tails with two sides. I was lucky enough to get the garlic mashed potatoes. Remember the ice cream scoop they used in middle school to load it into your plate? Well, there you go. Meh on those. The coleslaw was more Asian than traditional. I still have the leftovers in the fridge. Meh again. Would have been nice to know beforehand that using a gift card would be such an ordeal.
The dessert, a coconut pie with ice cream was the best part of the meal, but I'm not so sure it's made in house. There's star 2.
Let's talk tea. Coffee or tea are sometimes pleasant after a meal. Nice, I was offered such. The menus were taken away two hours earlier. Yes, we waited a while for the change over of food. Either way, I get the hot tea. Wait. No. A lukewarm 2 oz mug of water and a teabag. That's what costs $3+ for "tea." Sweet.
That brings us to the leftovers. The food we wanted packaged was taken away and we didn't go digging through to see if it was all there. Mistake. We put the food we wanted boxed onto one plate, to make it easier for our server to know which to box. We get home and the next day I planned to revisit the lobster. Guess what? The yummy potatoes? Check. The exotic coleslaw? Check. The one thing (lobster, you know, the pricey part of the meal?) was not there. Must have be thrown away, because it wasn't with the leftovers.
We paid, over tipped and left prior to that disappointment. I'll give them a call and see what they have to say.
Good luck,...
Read moreThis was mine and my husband’s first time here. The food was fantastic, our service was lousy(I got the feeling only ordering water to drink contributed to our server’s lack of interest in us). We sat at a high top in the bar area, and sat for at least five minutes before being approached for a beverage order(our server never shared with us her name). The quality of the food was excellent(I had the cod imperial, my husband had the mahi mahi and shrimp). When taking our order, she rattled off a list of sauces available, (maybe a suggestion on something that would’ve complemented one of our dishes would’ve been helpful). When cashing out, I intended on using a gift card for a portion of the payment(this probably also contributed to her lack of interest in us)it turned out to be the kind of card you have to register it on line. I decided to just use my visa instead. We had to wait again for the check. She had removed the card reader When she did finally come back with it to process my card, she stuck it in my face, asking me to choose my tip amount, I told her I was leaving cash on the table. This seemed to also disgust her. She ripped off the receipt printed, asking me if I needed a copy, I said no(regretfully now), why wouldn’t you just give the customer a copy? It felt like she was hiding something, oh well. I’m sorry this wasn’t a better experience, I’ll keep going to the Capstone grill, the food and service there is always...
Read moreI went to bonefish grill for my boyfriends birthday in April. I ordered the salmon with green beans. I prefer my salmon fully cooked not raw. I received my order and it was cooked on the edges but the middle was raw. I asked the waitress to please adjust it to fully cooked. A few moments later she came back with my plate and it was fully cooked but seemed as if it was microwaved or something. It was still good and enjoyable though. My friend had a shrimp pasta but specifically asked for no artichoke. Artichoke was in the pasta dish and she asked for it to be removed they brought it back and did have the artichoke removed but took her shrimp out. We asked for the shrimp and it was brought right to us. After that we received our bill and they charged me twice. I had 3 people on my check. One ordered the bang bang shrimp, the other ordered the shrimp pasta, and i ordered the salmon. They charged us for 2 shrimp pastas. Thankfully I looked at the bill and told them they needed to adjust it. After that was adjusted we paid and left. I’m glad everything was able to be fixed and worked out. I’m not sure if it was just a busy night or people had off days but I’ve experienced service like this before with undercooked food from this exact restaurant. It kind of disappointed me that the food remained uncooked even though I haven’t visited the restaurant in about 3 years. Overall I don’t think I will be back...
