They refuse to share information about their safety plan during Covid-19. They drove from a highly contaminated state to Alaska, I had to ask if they are taking precautions. Under a FB post they shared that they are opening up the RV park, I asked if they are opening it up to out of staters. I got back some attitude for asking, but I down played it respectfully. I also asked other questions about safety for Alaska and itโs people. I then got harassed and targeted. People then told me โthey donโt have to tell you anything about safetyโ. They tried to twist my words and play them in their head with malice, when all I have in mind is safety. They never once updated people or posted anything about covid-19 and their safety plan or even mentioned they had one. Not once, just a joke about it, there is nothing funny about a virus that is highly contagious. Itโs good business to reassure people in a time like this. There are a LOT of older folks who enjoy their park, to include my own grandparents. So if me asking about safety makes me a bad person, then I am a bad person. But I wonโt risk the safety of my loved ones, not on a place that cares so little about important information. Whatโs sad is this whole thing could have been avoided if they had written a well worded post about their safety plan. I would never have had to ask a single question about safety. But they donโt have safety in mind at all. PS I have all the screen shots...
ย ย ย Read moreMy wife and I recently spent three nights tent camping at Eagles Rest RV Park, and unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant. From the moment we drove in, we felt discriminated against by the park employees who patrolled the grounds on golf carts. Despite adhering to all park policies, we were constantly interrupted by staff every couple of hours, who felt the need to remind us of the rulesโrules we were not breaking.
It's my belief that we were singled out because we were younger than most of the other guests, who were predominantly retired RV owners. Additionally, being one of the few tent campers in a park primarily filled with over 100 mobile homes and expensive towable RVs, and having a small dog with us, seemed to draw undue attention.
One employee named Rick was particularly intrusive, repeatedly interrupting our stay to inform us that our dog could not be on the grass. This happened multiple times, even though our dog was never once on the grass. His constant harassment made our stay extremely uncomfortable and disrupted our ability to relax and enjoy our camping experience.
In conclusion, our experience at Eagles Rest RV Park was marred by what we perceived as discriminatory treatment. The repeated disturbances and unwarranted scrutiny of our small dog left us feeling unwelcome and regretting our decision to camp there. We cannot recommend this park to fellow tent campers, especially those...
ย ย ย Read moreI can't say I was too impressed with the staff at the park. As I was checking in our motorhome, I could see on a large board where our spot was and where my mom's cabin was. I had made sure we were relatively close to their cabin and we were. But they had to move our spot because of an issue with the sewage. The new RV spot was now even closer to my mom's cabin, but the woman checking us in did not mention that the new spot also was right next to the park's big trash dumpster. If we'd known that, we would have requested to move a couple of spots down. I also had asked the woman about my aunt's cabin reservation for the next night, just to be sure they had one and I was curious if it was going to be close to us or not. We were all in Valdez together for the annual Theatre Conference and also for our wedding. At first, the woman flat-out denied my aunt even had a reservation. Then she began quizzing me, asking me where she was from. When I gave her their home city in Maryland, she just shook her head. She would not even confirm they had a reservation! This was quite annoying and worrisome. I have worked at the front desk of a nice hotel before and I never would have put a guest through that. My aunt's cabin also was a little ways away from the rest of us and I had wished they would have tried harder to get them closer to us once they realized we were all together.
I did appreciate the nice showers and general location...
