Extra Space Storage — Attraction in Vallejo

Because I value transparency and honesty, I’m leaving my original review below—but I’m updating my 1⭐ to a well-deserved 5⭐ for the excellent service I’ve now experienced. I appreciate Adam and his team!

I originally planned to leave a 5⭐, but after my recent experience I can only give 1⭐.

The staff I interacted with — Olivia and Adam at the Fairgrounds location, and Jennifer and Brian at the Tennessee location — were professional, friendly, and kind. The issue is with the policy and lack of follow-through.

Back in February, Jennifer confirmed I could prepay a storage unit up to 24 months at the starting rate. In August, I inquired again since I'm experiencing financial issues and Jennifer informed me that the new timeframe is only 6 months. All four team members I spoke with (Aug 14–16) agreed on this new change. My friend and I booked our units, paid 4 months online, and then paid the remaining 2 months in person — as instructed. However, the system still charged me and my friend the higher rate starting month 5, only honoring the starting rate for 4 months instead of 6.

Despite repeated follow-up with Adam and providing proof of Jennifer’s email, I was promised a resolution on Tuesday, August 19th. Six days later, no one has called, texted, emailed, or corrected the issue.

This is poor business practice. If staff and customers agree to terms, the company should honor them — not hide behind a computer error.

Advice: view your unit in person before booking (sizes differ), and always get names in case you need to escalate to corporate. For comparison, the Tennessee location was flawless — Jennifer...

We made a quick decision to store @15 boxes. I thought we would try Extra Space. I wasn’t sure we’d be able to get in, but the transaction was all completed within @ 15 minutes. It was super easy. The gal on the phone couldn’t have been nicer. She got us all set up and within an hour we had our boxes packed in the storage unit. Once we arrived at the storage unit, the fellas there were fantastic. The guy at the desk was so polite and so informative. He told us everything, to get in the unit. Also helped us with the elevators to make moving our stuff in so much easier. Once inside, we met another employee and he was very helpful also. He helped us find our unit and taught us how to work the lock & key. The place was so clean, nice and new. But what really stood out was the customer service! Every single person was professional helpful and polite....

Hands down the best storage facility in Vallejo!! The team is professional, friendly, & welcoming. The entire experience was impressive. The facility is clean and units are nice!! They have many different sizes available. The roll up door and gold hardware are so cool! I really appreciate the wheeled carts. The temperature control buildings are really great. The facility is safe. I’m so glad I went with Extra Space Storage!!...
