Daiso may be the Dollar General of Japan, but that does not mean that their wares are of the same quality. In fact, it might be closer to say that Daiso is what you get when an Ikea, and a high-quality Japanese budget retailer get together and make a baby. There may be a lot of fluff and effluvia here, but there are also a lot of useful, down-to-earth, inexpensive home goods here that put anything you can find in an American retailer, for a comparable price, to shame. It's nice to have a shop that sells useful, elegant, quality goods at reasonable prices, a niche in which the Japanese uniquely excel. First-time Daiso shoppers may experience a slight bit of culture shock at having to convert prices from yen to dollars, but once they're hooked on all the wonderful, useful and inexpensive goods for sale here, that unfamiliarity will be fleeting. In particular, categories such as organization, kitchenware, stationery and home goods are not only cheaper here, they are more durable, useful, clever, and long-lasting. I would take anything purchased at a Daiso over any Walmart product, hands-down, any day of the week. They are simply not comparable. If you are simply one of the few who are unlucky enough to find a defective product, oh no...you're out a buck fiddy. Try again with something else. The thing about Japan, and Japanese culture, is they are relentless in their pursuit of perfection, which also includes innovation at absurdly cheap prices. Daiso is a reflection of this, and anyone who has ever been to Japan (myself included, multiple times) can attest to this: it's in their very nature. Their "worst effort" is often on-par with some of our "best". So sit back, relax, and enjoy this very limited presentation of some of their more modest offerings. And when you are starting to become convinced of their superior way of thinking, manufacturing, organizing, and presentation...feel free to delve deeper, and enjoy what you find. When you do, I'll see you at Uwajimaya.

A very clean and well organized store! They have so so much to offer here from stationary to household gadgets and goods to beauty products, and even food! I just may stop in for the most delicious cold sparkling white strawberry matcha I've had! That and a snack, which sometimes have discounts. They do not have any other discounts, though their prices already seem reasonable. They do not accept any returns or exchanges. Their strict no-return policy is the only thing I didn't like about the store thus only giving them 4 stars. They also have a very sensitive self-checkout that easily rings things up more than once.

Stumbled in here today by accident. Fun store to browse. A lot to look at, treasures down each aisle. Great selection of items for every room in your house. Great pieces too. The store is loaded with merchandise! Clean and well organized as well.

What a weird, cool store. A Japanese dollar tree! Everything is priced in yen! But there are conversion charts everywhere. Just like dollar stores have tons of random items to solve for some of our minor, random issues, this store shows how Japanese people do it! And it's weird! But very fun. My favorites are the storage ideas and tons of cool cleaning gadgets. But there's something for everyone here. I found a few things that normally cost quite a bit in department stores are here for much cheaper. Like shrink wrap and duct tape. The lowest price u will find, though, is $1.75, compared to $1.25 today in our...
