Being an aviation enthusiast, I loved my visit here! It is truly cool to discover all the many aviation events that have occurred here over the years. The museum may be small, but it is packed with a wealth of historical information and interesting aircraft! It is located in the Pearson Air Field, so part of the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site, which means after visiting the museum, you can walk outside and watch planes coming and going (and how I love to do this!), as well as visit all that Fort Vancouver has to offer...which is alot. I haven't been here in the summer months yet, but from what I can see from photos/videos taken by fellow Google reviewers, they open up the hangers so you can check out all the wonders of aviation that are within them. I'm excited to come back, and I was just here yesterday!

It is free to visit this museum, which is awesome, considering the wealth of knowledge/early aviation planes on display, and the pristine condition it is in.

Call me bias when it comes to anything aviation, because let's face it, I have the upmost respect for pilots. Early aviation in particular, is full of pilots that were truly brave, especially after seeing some of the aircraft they flew! I have nothing but respect for pilots period, past and present. When you see some of the performances put on during the airshows; if you are not in awe, you might want to check your pulse, lol.

I highly recommend this...

A museum is difficult to rate accurately because what is the comparison related for judgemet not as a slight but as a esteemed colleague applying constructive criticisms founded on mutual accelerated improvements driven by competion? If we used the Smithsonian institution as our benchmark Institutional museum. Then in the known world or slightly fantastic perhaps; NO ONE COULD COMPARE! Save maybe ancient Alexandria only could critique. This being the case we must resign Pearson to it's own merits and character and see this for what it is. A unique but highly valuable museum and location deserving and owning to proper esteem imparted by historic rarety and Intrinsic worth. What a mouthful, right...ugh. So, for this little museum is it in its own right is a smaller but informed repository of historically accurate local relative items. For the sake of these objects the value of an NPO can't be understated. To support this museum is a worthy cause and effort and you can not go wrong with your patronage. Leave a donation and depending on your level of interest plan on about an hour before the children are ready for something else and tour with a smile. We enjoyed it thoroughly and can't NOT, NOT recommend it. For the value of the money spent, (donation discretionary) how can you possibly loose? Great place to...

this museum is a small little gem. They don't have that many planes on view but if you get there when a volunteer docent is there, they are very knowledgeable and can answer almost any question. The docent that I met was a veteran who knew so much about the Vancouver aviation history.

There are a lot of stations that have to be read. It begins with the history of flight at this very field in the early 1900s. Even women were pilots & there is a section dedicated to these early femmes if the sky. The history continues through world war 1 and world war II and the importance of the building that was done at the adjacent fort. Men, as well as women, worked around the clock in order to supply the Pacific Theater with the necessary planes.

There is ample parking for free.

If you are a history buff and interested in how aviation, in particular, won...

I can't believe we have the same vancouver. It is an awesome, modern, free museum of early flight with several biplanes and a terrific film. I thought I would only watch the beginning of the film, imagining that it would begin to lose my interest as it approached modern times, but it was nothing like that, and I heartily recommend spending 45 plus minutes watching the whole thing. I also suggest reading the plaque on the monument to the Soviet polar flight and the signboards about the namesake of this field outside. I loved it here and I plan to return to spend more time studying the planes inside and watching planes take off and land outside.
