This is so much fun! I remember going here as a kid for field trips so I took my kids while we were vacationing. It's really cool to get a glimpse into life of a different time. I especially like the reenaxtor volunteers who actually perform a job as it would have been done back then and answer any questions from visitors. While we were there they had 2 blacksmiths (making a beaver trap), 2 wood craftsmen, a kitchen worker, and a fur trade store worker. We also toured the cheif factors house and the fort garden. While we didn't get to participate they had a kids archeology dig happening when we went and I found out after the fact that they had added a new building outside the fort to at replicated what a typical person's house would have looked like at the time. I just love how they are always adding to the fun and learning. The Pearson Air museum is near by, as well as Officer's Row -where civil war era officers lived as well as the common soldier's barracks. All in all a great place to take the family, class of students or the history buff...

I went there with family in June and had a wonderful time. We were able to enter many of the rooms and see what it was like back in it's glory days, which in my opinion is maintained by the wonderful employees and volunteers who work there. They answered questions with a welcoming presence and many were dressed in character. I would love to go back for another visit. Oh, and another perk, if you are a Veteran, you can get a free pass to all National parks. But, even if you do have to pay, it's definitely worth it if you want to see a part of...

Great Parking, restrooms available. Good interpretation of the history of the Fort and the Hudson's Bay Company. Amazing period garden that doesn't require admission. Wonderful trail system in the area. We go every Sunday to check out the garden and walk around. There is a PX nearby for snacks and drinks and a great restaurant, The Grant Place, for brunch and dinner. They have stargazing evenings where you camp overnight. Lots to see and do there, the Park Service is doing an amazing job...

I have the opportunity to visit here daily when I join my wife on her lunch. A pleasant area away from heavy noisy traffic with light commuter plane traffic and a beautiful view. At times, you can see Mt. Hood clearly. It's nice to enjoy the planes landing and taking off or a gentle walk on the trails here. Old trees with stories to tell enhance the landscape. Lean on one, hang on one. Let it all go and take rest beneath their branches. Listen to hear what they have to say in their silence.

Fascinating location. We have lived here for years and never visited, happy to finally visit. Learned quite a few things about the fort and the culture from the time of the fort. The first is rebuilt around foundations of the original. The people working here have a large amount of knowledge and are great to speak with. Would recommend for families and in general for anyone fascinated on the history of the area from when this was a dual US and Canada area.

This is a great place to learn some history!! We knew nothing about this place before visiting here. They have great junior ranger programs that helped us learn a lot!! We ended up spending a couple hours exploring and learning about this corner of history. My kids are 9 & 13 and both of them enjoyed exploring here and learned many new things! Definitely worth a visit!
