I’ve been to the Ventura location twice. Each experience was horrible. I thought that maybe the first was a fluke, but it was not. My 5-year-old cost $27, the same as I, which means I paid $57 for 90 minutes of play. That’s already pretty bad. My biggest complaint: RULES AND SAFETY WERE NOT ENFORCED. The girl who watched the main trampoline area just stood there the entire time and watched kids constantly run EVERYWHERE. There was a huge “no running” sign right at the entrance, by which kids constantly ran and the employees said nothing. My 5-year-old daughter was almost run over by groups of running children three times and the employee watched it happen and did nothing. I had to take it upon myself to tell the kids that they need to stop running because they’re going to hurt someone. THAT’S NOT MY JOB! And, annoyingly, the only time I saw anyone get onto anybody for “unsafe” activity, it was NOT the attendant who was there the entire time, and it was to tell a woman not to be on the same trampoline square with her daughter who was even younger than mine. Ridiculous. Then, the trampolines into the foam pit were completely occupied by little kids who were jumping on them 2 and 3 at a time and from one to the other while multiple kids were just playing inside the pit. What was the attendant doing? Yacking with her colleague and three other people in the corner, laughing and having a good time while kids were bouncing into each other and inhibiting my daughter’s ability to actually enjoy every aspect of the facility. Finally, what happened when my daughter actually got to jump in? The attendant wasn’t doing her job and watched as another kid just walked up and jumped in. They literally landed inches from my daughter. It was so close that even the parent apologized to me. The attendant just looked at me wide-eyed, knowing she messed up. I looked at her expecting something, ANYTHING. An expression of remorse? Apology? Nothing. I extracted my child and we moved on. We went to the playground with the slides and the equipment was so dirty that it was turning black. How long has it been since it was deep cleaned? There is also a creepy section under it where people were coming in and out. God only knows what they were doing in the mostly concealed area. To make matters worse, there were absolutely NO attendants in this area the entire time we were there. We then went to the ninja course. The aerial silks are something my daughter enjoys sitting and climbing on, but she couldn’t because the kids already there were swinging out of control. Last I checked, they aren’t swings and my daughter had even been scolded at the Thousand Oaks location for swinging on them. But these girls were using them for a solid half hour and no one said a word. Because they almost collided with my daughter multiple times, I had to pull the plug and talk her into being all right with doing something else. This is similar to my first experience by the way, so just multiply this by two. I only have two accolades: the young man who was operating the zip line was very nice, understanding, and patient. Also, the girl who was operating the snack bar (who was NOT in the activity area at all) was very nice and approachable. However, I can go to the park and a convenience store for an ICEE without having to pay $57 first. I will never return to this location and I highly recommend that anyone interested AVOID this facility entirely. The drive to Thousand Oaks...
Read morePlaces like Sky Zone are dangerous for children! You can't do anything about it if your child is injured or dies while playing in their facility.
My three year old daughter broke her leg while playing on the trampolines filled with balls during Toddler Time. The balls should not have been there in first place! An employee told me that she bought those balls with her own money. When my daughter was jumping, she landed on one of the balls, fell on her side along the edge of the trampoline, and snapped her femur (the edges are hard even though they are covered with pads). She was crying so hard. The pain was so intense that she almost passed out. I felt so bad for her. She had to have surgery and get pins put inside her leg in order to support her broken bone while it heals. After six weeks, she'll have to go back and suffer through another surgery to get the pins taken out. This entire incident makes me so angry because I had to sign the Waiver before I purchase the tickets. The waiver stated that Sky Zone is not responsible for any negligence by the employees, facility, equipment, other people, etc.. Basically, they are not responsible for anything! So, if their employees scatter broken glass on the trampolines, and people get cut up, they're not responsible for that either?! Apparently not!
There should be a way to stop these places from making their activities dangerous. Jumping is somewhat dangerous, and I feel a waiver is fine for that, but putting anything on the trampolines shouldn't be authorized. They should only used for jumping and approved activities only. People are getting injured here all of the time. They should be responsible for injuries that are caused by anything dangerous that they do. We contacted a lawyer, but they wouldn't take the case because the waiver covers everything. I guess that there isn't anything anybody can do to make them accountable for any wrong doing on their part.
I thought it would have been a fun day for my daughter and her friend, but then this happened. As a mom, I should have known that it was not a safe place when I saw the balls. I didn't think anything like this would happen! The place looked like fun and that was all I was thinking about. I made a mistake taking my daughter there. For all the moms out there, do not take your children to these places. It is an accident waiting to happen. I just want people to realize that places like Sky Zone are dangerous for children, or anyone. There have been many injuries and even several deaths at these places. Just do your research before you take your children to any of them. Don't make the same mistake I did. I should have done the research prior to going. You can google similar stories to mine. I found out afterwards that a couple of friend's children broke their bones at Sky Zone also. If I could turn back time, I would have chosen something else that wasn't dangerous. I will never go to Sky Zone, or places like...
Read moreThis was a smaller sky zone location in comparison to the other ones I've visited. However, this was the first to have massage chairs for the adults to sit in while waiting,(they are paid, but you don't have to pay for them just to sit in a pretty comfy chair which I may have started to fall asleep in lol). Con about this place and I'm not sure if this is a new sky zone rule at all locations, but... it's one thing to require your jumpers to wear the special gripper socks that they provide at a cost of $5 a pair I believe,(if you bring in a pair that you have previously received at sky zone or another trampoline place they will exchange for free which was pretty cool), however...to now force your customers to BUY one of your sky zone T-shirts FOR EACH JUMPER in order to jump there on Saturday and Sundays is completely asinine and making this place border on being just too expensive. When ypu are charging $30 for an all day jump pass, $7 for a t-shirt, and $5 for socks you're at $42 PER KID. Quite a lot for trampoline jumping...
The kids DO have a lot of fun here regardless, and that is kids of all ages that I always see at these places. This one is very dark inside, only being lit up by black lights, etc, making the tshirts they make you buy glow in the dark. Because of how dark it is in there, I couldn't tell you how clean it was in there. But with the darkness and those massage chairs, as long as the really loud music playing doesn't bother you, a nap is possibly in store for those parents waiting There is also a zip line, and a couple of arcade games in the front. Again, not the biggest location so it doesn't have all of the stuff the other...
