Busters OG BBQ & GRILL — Restaurant in Ventura

I'd give 2.5 stars if I could but I wouldn't go as far as a 3. Reason being is that they're overpriced. The taste and quality is up to par with the original busters, but the hot sauce isn't quite as hot and the meat serving sizes are small for what you're paying. $13 for a tri-tip sandwich and you'll get about 4-5 thinly sliced pieces of meat and 2 end cut pieces that are mostly fat. I've been waiting to write a review because I thought maybe I had bad luck on the first 3 visits, but their serving sizes have remained the same on all 5 of my visits. It seems as though that's the amount of meat the restaurant serves on their sandwiches, but it might be the kitchen themselves that are skimping customers. You can go down the street to Marshalls and get a tri tip sandwich with more meat, a side of your choice and a small drink for...

I've always felt that Just BBQ on Johnson Dr was the best until they closed down I've tried other local spots but none would ever come close, from Bodacious BBQ, CJ's BBQ, The Best BBQ, Da Hickory House ... none came close until today I was recommended to come to Busters so I did and not only did they give me what I asked for (rare meat & double macaroni salad) not only did it bring back the taste of Just BBQ it tasted even better ... sauce was great, macaroni was great, chili beans great, meat is bomb even the bread was on point! Busters BBQ definitely gained a new longterm customer! Don't believe me try it for yourself! Also they're prices are reasonable compared to the others plus they pack on food ... again don't believe me try...

People are great and service is fast. But I agree with most people. Food is overcooked most of the time. My problem is everytime I eat the macaroni salad I get cramps and sick, like last night. Busters, Hickory House and Santa Paula bbq are all the same. All the guys that used to work at busters cook at the other places. Same meat and salads, beans, etc. You're getting cooked meat, not bbq. But it beats taco bell or McDonald's. I want to state the people and atmosphere are great. As long as you know you are just getting cooked meat and probably overdone, it's fine. I'm not saying anything bad about this place. If you complain about the prices you haven't eaten out anywhere lately. Elect a new president if you want...
