Based on experience with Ashley W (server) & manager.
I’m going to start by saying, this is my boyfriend's (Michael) experience and if an owner would like to speak to him directly that can be done. Michael had started going to Cronies a few times a week for about a month now because he lives in the neighborhood. Sometimes by himself to decompress after work, sometimes with his roommates or friends with never any problems.
I have history with Ashley (the server that acted out towards Michael). Short story is that we had a falling out. Michael is associated with me and has never done anything but be kind to her, but apparently that's all the reason she needs to ask him to leave.
On May 9 Friday around 2:30 - 4:30pm, Michael was sitting at the bar minding his own business on his phone with a beer when Ashley showed up after he was already there demanding that he leaves. She told him that he’s been coming in more frequently on the days that she works, accusing him that his intentions are to harass her. Keep in mind, Michael literally has never spoken a word to Ashely except for when she was taking his family's food order and messed up his order not once, but twice. Anyways, she slammed the check down and shouted at him. Michael was shocked and asked the manager to come over. Michael asked him if there had been any complaints about him or issues besides what Ashley was accusing him of. The manager said no. He did nothing to investigate the issue. He could’ve spoken to the other servers/bartenders asking if Michael had gone out of his way to bother her or be inappropriate with anybody, but nothing like that happened.
Michael, his friends, family, roommates like(d) and support Cronies by becoming regulars and because Ashley doesn’t know how to act like an adult, she’s taking that away. That’s okay, they can take their business elsewhere if he’s truly 86’d and if we don’t hear back from the owner, but I felt that she and that manager should be called out. How can you be a decent manager if you don’t properly assess a situation before asking a customer to leave? You’re not doing your job and that’s called negligence or in other words lazy.
Michael and I both work in the restaurant industry and it’s laughable that a server behaved this way. Am I going to ask someone to leave because I don’t like them? No. It’s not my restaurant and we’re there to do a job. If Michael had done anything inappropriate towards her I would totally understand why she wouldn’t want him in there but that is not the case. If anything, Ashley is the one that had been inappropriate in front of both of us and she knows exactly what I’m talking about.
Besides this encounter, Michael has always had a good experience at Cronies. The other servers/bartenders have been very...
Read moreStill the best wings and frosty cold beer, but something changed a few months ago. You can no longer order anything for breakfast, just breakfast which might be OK, but all of sudden everything is over cooked. Hint: eggs that are dry, brown, and like rubber are BURNED. Unless they're ordered well done, that's not how you do it, I know, I cook. Fix that and we will start coming in on the weekends again.
OK, I guess it's time to update this review from eight years (yes, eight years) ago. While you still can't order anything for breakfast like so many years in the past, the issue with overcooked breakfast is fixed. Not sure what was going on there for a while.
Little Daddy is one of the best burgers in the area and easier to finish than the Big Daddy. Salads are fresh, most any sandwich super tasty. Try the blackened chicken tacos, Budwich hot, the Chuckwood Combo, or the wings of course.
This is the original Cronies, and...
Read moreGood food. However, seemed like we got the end of the bag of curly fries as it was like eating bits of fries. Good rib eye sandwich except the part where it was sliced rib eye and not chunks. Had the Chili cheeseburger with a turkey patty substituted & onion rings. The burger was great and the rings good. Ordered a raspberry tea no ice and seems like I received extra. Ordered an appetizer of mozzarella sticks and they were your normal ones but the surprise was the warm marinara which was really good. I'll have to ask for that from other places as it tasted very good. The waitress was good but seemed a bit overwhelmed by the number of customers but she was super friendly. In her defense it was a Friday night. Always recommend Chronies to those looking for a decent affordable meal and...
