I've been going to this store for years, and I have a mixed review.
THE GOOD (clean, nice selection, only nearby store to SB): Clean store with a nice selection of Indian groceries. It's the only such store if you live in the Santa Barbara area. The business owner (wife) is very friendly and pleasant to do business with
THE BAD (bad attitude, dishonesty, did not honor price tag): Yesterday, I visited the store, and the husband was busy working, shelving new items (wife wasn't there), whom I have never met before. Though superficially friendly, when I asked questions about price, I sensed an attitude of "don't bother me, I'm busy working" I tried buying two items clearly marked at "$0.99". First, he tried selling them to me at $1.99 (grouping them with other items marked higher). Then, when I pointed out the obvious $0.99 sticker, he refused to sell them to me at that price, saying his wife had made a mistake with the price. He tried charging me $2.49 for them !!! Finally, I asked how much a box of chicken kebabs cost. He said $7.99. When I asked how many pieces, he lied, saying 6 pieces. I'd bought this many times prior and remembered buying 4 pieces. When I mentioned 4 pieces, he insisted 6 pieces. Of course, I came home an hour later to find only 4 pieces. Blatant dishonesty to get me to buy the item !!!
I don't know if I'll shop here again....
