I’ve been to every Lalos location and consistently have experienced bad service. This one takes the cake though! I was surprised to see that at this location, you pay first. Which makes sense when we got the food. My husband always orders the mocajete Azteca which didn’t have the cheese. When he asked for it, we were given an attitude. The meat was rubbery and overcooked. I didn’t get my plate for quite some time after my husband got his. When I finally got my plate, the enchiladas were cold and the cheese was not melted. So, I asked to have them reheat it. Which took so long, I finally gave up eating by the time my husband was finished with his food. I asked for a refund and they gave me the excuse that they were busy with other orders. But, that my food was there on the counter waiting to give to me…. Getting cold again. They had to call their boss and after again explaining their excuses, finally agreed to give a refund of $15.90. Which meant we were OVERCHARGED! whatever! It’s only a few dollars. We never received an apology for the long wait nor the cold food. We were only given a bad attitude and dirty looks....
Read moreSince my last post 8 months ago I'm back at Lalos and I really missed it. I love this place. I crave the Aguachiles and the crispy carnitas and the staff have always been kind to me.

8 months ago... This is a sad day.
For years I've been going to Lalo's. First over on The Ave and more recently on Thompson bc we live close. While they do have a couple of really thoughtful servers, something has started going wrong recently at the Thompson location. A couple of months ago we got a torta that had something rotten in it. They exchanged it for a different item and apologized. Now last night our friends called ahead and ordered food for them and our daughter... First they gave away their food to someone else. Then they were rude about giving it away! Worst of all, two of six people in the group got terrible food poisoning.
I normally advocate for this place over the chains in town but I'm going to take a break from Lalo's for a while.

Read moreI had ordered two burritos, and called the restaurant because the food was disgusting, hoping they would like to resolve the issue, I spoke to a cashier, named DULCE & she was very rude, asked me to bring the food back in when I had thrown the two burritos in the trash, WE ARE going through a pandemic COVID 19, and they wanted to take the food back in order to see if I was lying or not, or whatever the reason may be and that is definitely not following the guidelines for a restaurant that serves many people, how do they know if I was contaminated or not? the cashier dulce said she would have the owner call me back to tell me his decision, and she stated she was very “busy” while I was telling her what the issues were and that wasn’t very professional!
