We have been going to Ventura Sandwich Company in Ventura, CA for years and years and have never had any issues what-so-ever. Their marble rye bread is the best and their sandwiches are always filled with a lot of meat. We went there a month ago and, sadly, this wasn’t so. We ordered our usual Turkey Clubs and were truly disappointed. Both sandwiches had very little meat in them. I emailed the company and did not receive a response. I waited about a week & a half and emailed the company again, still no answer. I waited about another week & a half and called the company. I asked who responds to email. The employee told me that the owner does. I asked if there was a reason that the owner was not answering my emails…meaning was s/he sick, on vacation, or what? The employee said that she didn’t know. She asked me what the issue was. I told her and her response was to say that she heard about the problem. Well, if the employee has heard of my issue, why haven’t I received a response to my emails? The employee took my name and phone number and said the owner would call me. You guessed it…still no response. I’m not suggesting that you don’t go to this Sandwich Shop; I’m letting you know that if you have an issue, don’t bother to contact them…it’s a waste of your time because you’ll just be ignored!!! By the way, at the bottom of their receipt, it states where to give them a Google Review but it routes one to a different company so...
Read moreI used to come here often when my father was in the hospital up the street and I always had a pleasant experience. It’s been a while but I placed an order online for a blt and paid the extra $3 for avocado to be added. I picked up the order and was almost halfway through the sandwich when I realized they had not put it on so I politely called thinking they could just refund the extra I paid. But the girl who made it insisted to the girl who answered the phone that she had and I was lying. Needless to say I was pretty offended and I couldn’t ask for a refund when she was being so adamant it was on the sandwich. I offered to bring it in as I was right outside and half of the sandwich was completely untouched so it would be easy to see that it had no avocado. So I went back in feeling very uncomfortable with the whole interaction so far…the one who made it took one look at my sandwich and tossed it in the trash without any recognition that it was in fact not what I’d ordered and paid extra for. She made a new one and handed it to me as if I’d done something wrong. Definitely my last...
Read moreVentura Sandwich Company is a gem of a find in the local dining scene! As a locally owned and operated establishment, they offer some truly amazing sandwiches that surpass those of well-known chain stores.
The shop itself is cozy, with a few tables inside and a couple more outside. Ordering is a breeze with their walk-up counter, and they even offer a large pickup service for those on the go. The sandwiches boast diverse options, each bursting with flavor and uniqueness. Don't forget to pair your sandwich with one of their pre-bottled beverages and chips for a complete meal.
My personal favorite is the Aztec roast beef sandwich on Chabot bread. The combination of cheddar cheese, roast beef, lettuce, tomatoes, and their homemade Aztec sauce is simply divine.
In terms of pricing, Ventura Sandwich Company offers very decent rates for the quality of food you receive. The service at the counter is always fast and friendly, ensuring you're never left waiting. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this place is definitely...
