Came here to celebrate my fiance's birthday. We started at Andrias. Andrias has the best fish n chips hands down!!. Their clam chowder... Not so much. It was more of a potato chowder than anything else. Food came quick and it was hot! We loved that. We will definitely come back.
Next we took a stroll down the harbor... very nice views, ran into some nice people and we ended up at the channel islands information center where we just made the 5pm closing time. The ladies at the front desk we're so nice and helpful even though they were about to close. They even let us go up to the look-out tower for a few minutes. Right before we left, one of the ladies stayed behind to indulge us with some very interesting information about the sights... Very impressed with their customer service!
We then walked down to the beach and made our way back to Andrias... Wow! The beaches are beautiful with Soft clean sand. The water was not as cold as we expected. We were very pleasantly surprised.
Next we stopped by and got soft serve "mermaid" ice cream at coastal cone. Yummy! Surprised by how generous the small portion was...for only $5.50!!!
Finished our day at Boatyard Pub with some live acoustic entertainment and a beer.
Only complaint: During our day trip, we were excited to learn that it was a special Wednesday Summer event with local businesses offering day specials on food, drinks, dessert... discounts, etc... but when we inquiried with said businesses...no one seemed to know what we were talking about. We were a little confused.
But other than that, we had a great time. And we will...

This is a delightful place to play, eat and get entertained. Plenty of water sports with kayaking as one of the most popular water activities. There are excursion boats for scuba diving and snorkeling.
The Ventura State Park within the Village has plenty of space for picnic and playing with dogs.
When youβre hungry, there are many great restaurants with prices fit all budgets. My favorite is the the seafood market where you can have the freshest seafood for lunch or dinner.
If you come with kids, they will love you if you stop by the Fish Cone parlor to get some Taiyaki ice creams for them. I think the ice cream is good for adults too π
After tired of walking, just find a seat at the Copa Cubana and order a margarita to relax and enjoy the live Cuban music. Or you can just enjoy the bottomless Cuban Mimosas while relaxing on the open patio and take in the beautiful view of the...

The food is mostly seafood, but there are also some interesting places like a Cuban restaurant with live music, a fishcone place (ice cream and topping with fish waffles), and most of them have a great view of the harbor and plenty of patios.
In one of the courtyards there is giant floor map at scale of the channel islands. The islands, by the way, are just across from the beach and visible even if its overcast.
There are often street musicians and on weekends guy with a whole bunch of exotic birds.
They have paddle boats with awnings in the shape or swans or dragons and kayaks to rent. You can charter just about any type if boat here. The ferry for the channel islands is here (they offer amazing sealife and perfect kayaking). There are even bikes to rent to drive...
