This is the second time I've gotten a bad haircut at one of these discount places, so I have no one to blame but myself (fool me once, etc. etc.). But if this review prevents a single girl from going through the hell of a bad haircut its worth it.
I asked for a dry trim (I have curly hair that I straighten). The stylist immediately picked up the spray water bottle. That should have been my first red flag. But it was the end of my work day and I had one errand to run so whatever - I can re-style at home.
After my hair was cut I asked if we could just trim up my bangs. The stylist asked "okay you part them to the side, right?" No sooner than I said "Yes" did he take a texturizing shear to my bangs and chop of AN INCH AND A HALF. I never got a chance to say how short I wanted them, nor how choppy (0% choppy would be the answer). I spent the last 6 months, and several bottles of expensive prenatal vitamins, growing my bangs to the nice long length they were after a prior bad bang cut. I was never consulted about what length I wanted, and stylist completely ignored my saying that I wanted the same bangs, just a bit of a trim, when I first sat down.
Not only that, but the stylist also asked me to take a look at the back of my hair to check the length. How can I check the length now that my hair is curling? It's no longer the style I wear it! I said I couldn't tell how the back looked because it's now wavy, and was told that he could straighten it but "that would cost extra." Seriously? This is unprofessional and, quite frankly, extremely rude.
I went back again after a few hours and had another stylist do what they can, but there's only so much you can fix when your bangs have been cut far too short and far too choppy.
Months of patience growing out my hair in a style I loved were ruined in seconds by an inattentive stylist. I'm done with these discount places for good. I'll gladly pay 3x as much for anyone willing to at least ask how short I want my hair cut before cutting it. And now I'll be spending 3x what I spent on this haircut in prenatal vitamins just to shave a couple of weeks off the growing-out time.
To any ladies reading this: Save up the cash and go see a professional salon with staff who is willing to speak with you about what you want before taking the shears...
Read moreWorst experience I’ve ever had getting my hair cut. I had Jessica who told me she could do a long bob how I requested - shoulder length. I had a picture I showed her. I told her I wanted layers in the back. Halfway through she tells me her boss keeps taking her off the schedule and that she had to call that morning and ask if she could come in. While cutting the back of my hair she stops mid sentence and stares at the back of my head for a solid ten seconds then continues on after saying “sorry haha I got distracted”. When cutting the side of my head I see her make a cut up to my ear.. I said nervously, “that’s not the length my hair is going to be right” she somewhat shrugs says “nah” and continues to cut the front. When I got home and blow dried my hair I realized how bad it actually was. There’s chunks of hair missing that are up to my ears, chunks and strands that hang down inches below other pieces?? Absolutely horrible. I never complain ever, I don’t write negative reviews but this was beyond okay. I called back and the woman told me to come back and she would fix it. My “long bob” is now up to my chin because of the amount of hair she had to cut off to fix what Jessica had done. I have random short pieces throughout my hair that look awful. The woman who fixed my haircut said “it’s extremely chunky, obviously she had no idea what she was doing” ..then why does she work here if she doesn’t know what she’s doing? I could have done a better job myself.. but I didn’t attempt it because I thought I was going to a professional who KNEW what she was doinNobody apologized or refunded my money for this...
Read moreI had a terrible experience at Cut to the Chase Hair Salon last night. I had a 4 PM appointment with Dee for a full head of highlights, and everything went wrong from start to finish.
I requested soft dark chocolate highlights, but the process was painful and unprofessional. When Dee was pulling the foils, my hair was ripped with each pull, causing me significant discomfort. Then, while applying toner, she splashed it on my face and even into my eye. Thankfully, my eyes were closed, but the toner still seeped into my eyelash line and caused a burning sensation. Despite mentioning it multiple times, Dee only seemed mildly concerned, claiming she saw toner "only under my eye."
As if the physical discomfort wasn’t enough, the result was beyond disappointing. After washing out the toner, my hair had a hay-like, unpleasant straw color. To fix it, Dee applied another darker color, but it ended up making my hair so dark that it looks like I didn’t even get highlights. What I do have now is a random patch of dark cherry red in the middle of my head, and that’s it. It’s not remotely close to what I wanted or paid for.
This was an absolute disaster. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. Avoid this salon...
