This is an awesome business! I purchased a Luminox watch from an authorized dealer back in Rhode Island . When it stopped working, they told me, I needed to send it out for service! I thought they were a dealer. I just held on to it because of what it cost me for the last 5 yrs without doing anything with it. Moved to Vero last Oct. A coworker recommended 6th Avenue Jewelers for batt change on another watch. Brought both into store and after looking at my Luminox for maybe 10 min, I was told what was wrong and an estimate to repair! Less than 2 weeks, they call to let me know it's done and $25 less than estimate! Talk about honesty! I don't repair watches so they could have just charged me what was quoted, how would I know? Picked it up this aft, working great and a new crystal. They showed me the old one and man was it scratched! So my fiance decides she wants silver cleaner for some of her jewelry , purchases that, and then asks to have her engagement ring checked. They checked all 3 diamond settings, and they spent at least 10 minutes cleaning and polishing! They truly are in the customer service business! They are, as far as we are concerned , a pillar of the Vero Beach community! They will continue to get my business as long as I'm here! I'm as happy as a pig in #$%&! Keep doing...
Read moreDon't ever take your valuables to be repaired or anything to this jeweler. I have a family heirloom that I took to this jeweler. It has been in my family since 1907. The ring has hair braided on the outside of the ring and was fraying on the bottom. I spoke to Mike and his associate at 6th Avenue Jeweler about repairing the frayed area. They suggested epoxy on the bottom where it was frayed leaving the hair on the sides untouched. When I picked up my ring it was epoxied all the way around ruining the value of this heirloom mourning jewelry piece. No I'm sorry. No we should have checked. Just I can see both sides of the story and we made a mistake. Very irresponsible. Now I am left trying to remove the epoxy myself without ruining the ring. This place is one step above a pawn shop.
I just read the response from 6th Avenue Jewelers and the bottom line is that if the repair we spoke about was not possible than they should not have taken the repair job in. They took it in and did what they thought was right not what was discussed. As far as getting the epoxy off now they said they would do some tests to see if they could get it off without ruining the piece....
Read more*UPDATE: I had asked for a ring to be made for my daughter. They made the cast. I wanted to try it with 4 diamonds at the start. However, it needed diamonds all around to look balanced and beautiful. I was told that they would contact me when it was done.
Time went by, so I called for an update. I was told they’re still working on it. More time went by. I called again. I was again told that they’re still working on it. Third call after months had gone by, I called again. Now I’m told that they’re waiting for the diamonds to come in. I was promised a call back. I waited and waited. I never received a call back.
I have both sold and purchased jewelry from them. I’ll never understand why I was disregarded. However, I’ll never recommend them again. This was some time ago, but I had forgotten to update my review. I’m beginning to question if the $2,500 diamond earrings I purchased are real. Sad all around.
Excellent business! The staff were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. I will definitely take my jewelry there from now on!...
