It is all about service. There is nothing at Village Hall to brag about at all. From the recreation department, building department, and parking violations, there is zero customer service. The tax department is professional. The court system is way too slow and unnecessarily too public for odd law enforcement incidence. Getting to see a simple Village manager is a chore, as if the guy were the President. Even more, the village attorney does not take a walk in person for a simply question and does not return calls. What a joke. Scarsdale is undeniably the wealthiest village on the planet and yet, the employees of the Village Hall are not trained in customer service to go above and beyond to help the high paying taxpayers that fund their salaries. It starts from the top, poor overall management. The Scarsdale residents deserve better. Why? As any hardworking citizen anywhere, the expectation is good earnings equates to quality service. There are residents for 30, 40, 50 years that cannot quite understand the system, employee entitlement behavior and lack of congeniality. They’re not rude, they’re just trying to cut short all the nonsense that people are trying to give them, stories, excuses, etc. They’re very business like a very straightforward, they can take in your plea and tell you about the next steps. They even offered some helpful advice. But they are not going to fix a ticket for you. They’re not going to change your appearance date for you. They don’t want to hear your excuses or arguments. That’s all up to the court and the prosecutor. Yes they are a little forward and abrupt, but that’s because they have to stop all the nonsense that people are throwing out them.
