Perfect house for a perfect weekend ❤️

Our family, including adult children, their spouses, two grandchildren, and our dogs spent the weekend at Starkhaus, in Door County.

Cleanliness is important to us and it was immaculate.

Space is important to us, and there was plenty of space to sleep and play. I particularly appreciated how there were so many separate areas to congregate in an open concept floor plan. So you could play with kids in one area and still be in conversation with others playing cards in a different area or cooking or watching a movie — all at the same time! It facilitates togetherness, yet still offers spacious bedrooms and plenty of other spaces for quieter moments.

The Christmas tree was a beautiful extra and just added to our holiday cheer.

Very nice large and practical kitchen, where we cooked breakfasts and dinners, baked and decorated Christmas cookies, and even had meaningful conversations…

Our hosts were so gracious and helpful. We made a mistake in our planning and they kindly gave us useful information that was a solution. That was exceptional.

There was NOT a long list of clean up details for us before check out. We always leave a place clean, but it was nice to not have that extra pressure. In fact, it was motivation to leave it extra clean.

Lastly, I found a sweet book in my night stand that apparently the owners leave for guests. I just want to personally thank them - it met my needs in a special way this weekend.

I wish for everyone to have such a peaceful and family friendly experience.

Highly recommend this house for a larger family who loves to spend time together playing games and just making memories. Every one of our family members wants to come back, even our four year old grandson who said it was a “fun” house.

Oct 25-27, 2024: We have been doing a girls weekend in Door County for about 6 years in October and this was our first time staying at Cottage and Bay as well as our first Airbnb experience in Door County. Katie and Mitch made it so easy! From the moment I booked their beautiful home they stayed in touch with updates and tips for a great weekend. When it came to check in there was an unexpected error with our entrance code and Ashley was immediately responsive to trouble shoot, got us entrance into the home and in less than an hour we had a solution without any worry the rest of the weekend. The space was amazing and accommodated 5 women without difficulty. Provided us a great space to end the day with comedy, conversation and cocktails! I've never entered a more welcoming and clean rental space. Bathrooms fully stocked, comfy beds, lots of throw blankets for chilly nights, coffee & tea amenities and fluffier towels than many hotels. I was in the Sister Bay Area for my son's wedding. An added benefit was Sister Bay Fall Fest weekend at the same time.

This place is perfectly situated for events at Northern Haus, Thyme Restaurant, and all of Sister Bay, really (just a mile from downtown--walked to Fall Fest). The location just off 57 makes this a breeze to find.

The furniture was comfy, the Wifi and Roku worked well. They welcome dogs too, so that was a plus. My son's dogs were in his wedding but not invited to the reception, so they stayed at the house and overnight.

The coffee maker went on the fritz, but Mitch was on it immediately upon my text.
