Birdneck Shopping Center — Attraction in Virginia Beach

I cannot stand this shopping center! I went to foos lion for a quick item and then dollar tree...I saw a guy go into the dollar tree and pull out of his jacket red meat and other groceries and put them in the dollar tree bags. The employees there saw what was going on and didn't say anything! Then he proceeded to go steal more stuff and they just watched! I had my son , so I just got out of there as fast as I could. We get outside and there were 2 adult punks with 2 poor kids....listening to some horrible curse words galore crap on their phone. They literally stood in front of the doors waiting on the guy that was stealing. I even saw the guy that was stealing talking with one of the dollar store employees. This was in the middle of the day!!! I have seen drug deals taking place in the parking lot. Constantly people are begging. That dollar store and food lion need to get it together. It stinks that I have to drive way out of the way to avoid this nasty shopping center....but beware to those that go! Especially if you are a decent person....be on...

I was the last person to check out in the line of a cashier who was ending her shift, as well as the shift supervisor. Both were ready to clock out. Cashier was ringing up my purchase and it went a little over the amount of cash I had as well as the amount I had on my debit card. Knowing that both of them were ready to clock out... I just took a couple of items and said..." just take these off... I realized my husband had put some things in there that I told him we had, so I told him Not to get them. I started handing the supervisor those items also... because I was actually saying... Jeff, I told you Not to get this... and both the cashier and supervisor heard us talking... however as I'm handing the supervisor the unneeded items... she pushes them back at me... looks at me and says..." no, we're done ". WOW... Very Bad Customer Service Skills Supervisor. Shame on You. And You're Supposed To Teach You're Staff ...Leading By Example. Lady You Are Not A Leader. I will be coming back to talk to you. ...

The worse. I know times are hard for alot of people. And unfortunately a lot of my fellow Virginians are between abodes. So I understand that means the outdoors is where they are. But this shopping center seems to be the meeting place for travelers. The parking lot is always full of people just walking around with no particular place to be. For me that's a little unsettling. I'm sorry and not sorry if this sounds offensive. The stores and restaurants do not seem to suffer from the area being what it is though. The Wing place is good. The hair store is nice. There is even a 24 hour gym. Food Lion has a decent variety and reasonable prices. The Dollar Tree hits. The CBD store opens late and closes early. I don't know the Asian restaurant hours. They use door dash for deliveries. There is also a phone store and a laundromat. It's a well rounded shopping center. The gas station on the corner is a BP. So it ticks all the boxes. I can't say it's not safe. It just looks like it. Stay...
